RP from 07: Gift question for the married ladies

So, I'm sure I'm not the only person that's had this issue, so I'd like some advice on what to do here...... 2 part question:

1. Going through the gifts and cards we got AT the wedding, we got one gift that was not attached to any card. A very nice Vera Wang vase. Now, there is only one card we got at the wedding that did not have $$ nor did that person send anything in the mail - so I'm pretty sure that has to be who the vase is from, right? But, is there a polite way to ask them that and find out, incase it wasn't from them?

2. There's about 10 people that attended our wedding we did not get anything from. I know that technically they have a year to send something, but I still find this odd considering who a couple of them are. And a couple of them I know have financial issues, which is fine by me, I knew not to expect something to begin with. But, for the others, this is a bit odd. Like one girl got married within the past 3 years, and sent me a bridal shower gift - I would definitely think she'd give me something at the wedding, she's not the type of person not too. I'm HOPING cards didn't get lost, I accounted for everything that people handed me - but, how to I find out if they DID get lost, or in fact these people just didn't give anything? I don't want to sound rude, incase they just haven't sent anything yet, but at the same time I'd feel horrible if a card was misplaced, or a gift was lost in the mail.......

Any solutions to this??

As for the cardless gift I would send a thank you note to who you think its from. If its not from them they will prob call to let you know.

As for missing cards, we got about 8 cards within the month of our wedding and were still getting gifts up until Christmas and we got married in July. Still no gifts from 3 couples. So some people really do follow the 1 year deal. Some were close family and friends too.
