RP from 07: Room Blocking Question...Help Please!!

Not going to have too many OOTs by our calculations, but then again, you never know who will RSVP with a yes. Two questions:

1. Getting married on a Sunday. Should I block rooms for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday? Just Friday and Saturday? Just Saturday and Sunday? What?

2. The place we're going to block requires a 70% guarantee. In other words, the special rate is only applicable if 70% of the room block is filled. If not, the rate reverts back to the normal rate.

My question here is: do we put that on the OOT information in the invitation? Or what? Looks like it'd end up being a difference in price of about $50 for each room if the prices reverted back.

my hotel let me book some for fri night and some for sat night ( my weddig is on a sat).

I would try to book as few rooms as possible or find a hotel that doesnt require 70% of the rooms to be booked.

Which hotel is it?

If I were you, I would book some fri night and some sat and most for sunday.

I would also send out the info with your invites. I just booked my hotel and I am sending the info out with my thank you notes from my e-party.

I have the same issue - Sunday wedding, what to do... The place i'm looking at requires 70% - but she said she'd work with that number and if we get 5 she'd be okay with it.

I've found that if you are honest with the hotel - they will work with you. I'm getting married at the Fox Hollow - and we're going with the Executive Inn - which is down the road.

Most hotels will consider number of nights stayed instead of PER RESERVATION... So - in other words - my uncle comes in on Friday and stays through Monday - that counts as 3 of the 7 we need...make sure you find out if they count room nights or reservations!!
