To all the brides getting married during hurricane season... where are you planning on going for your honeymoon?!?! Aruba seems like the best bet so far, but I wanted something a little more exotic...
TIA

Re: RP from '08: Hurricane Season
Hurricanes rarely hit Costa Rica, it's a possibility for us.

Re: RP from '08: Hurricane Season
Yoru wedding date is late September, so hurricanes should not be so much of an issue. At that time of year, they tend to hit with higher intensity further north. (Katrina in New Orleans, then Rita in Galveston).
We've booked Antigua for our late October honeymoon. Aruba is totally out of the hurricane belt. It is a safe bet if you are worried. Great place to visit.

Thanks... I would just hate to spend all that money and be stuck in a hurricane... espeicially since we are thinking about 10 - 14 days!

Re: RP from '08: Hurricane Season
I think its hurricane season in the caribbean and then Monsoon season in the pacific. So a good exotic alternative may be the Maldives. And of course Aruba will be great. FH and i are going to brazil (but not at that time of year) but they barely ever get hurricanes. I found some really nice exotic places in brazil- FM me if you are interested. Also, I think Costa Rica would be awesome and below the belt.

Hurricane season is from June 1st to either November 1st or 30th. August, September & October are the most active months, and there is no way to tell where they're going to hit. Aruba is technically considered outside of the hurricane belt, but that only means they are less likely to get a hurricane. They were hit by Hurricane Ivan in 2004 (the tail end), but it destroyed a lot of the island. It's the least likely to get hit by hurricanes, so my FH and I are going there for our honeymoon.
