RP from BHB: Don't know what to do...

Hi girls...
I'm sorry to bug you guys but I'm in such a cr@py mood today and I really don't know what to do about this situation. FI and I had a big argument last night (naturally over something STUPID) and we still haven't resolved the situation. I feel really bad because I have a tendency to over react and this time I did. Long story short in the course of the argument, I said some REALLY mean things about him and his family and now I feel really bad. I know I should have never said what I said, and to be honest; I didn't really mean what I said. I just said it out of anger. I know I can't take it back but I just want to make up for it. I also wish I could just keep my head in these situations and not just blurt out the first thing that comes to my head...

Don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone says mean things sometimes. (Especially to those we love!)
I'm sure Fh is over it by now. In the future, just be careful what you say. And try to figure out a better way to get your point/anger across without being damaging!

Aww sweetie. I know this can be rough. This has happened to me so many times, and everytime I'd blow up on my FI about his parents I'd end up feeling so bad. I'd let things settle down for a few days and then talk to your FI and tell him exactly what you told us... how you said things out of anger and that you said things you really didn't mean.

This happens to all of us. I definately know what your feeling right now.

I have diarhea of the mouth too. don't stress too much, your FH loves you that's why he's marrying you! Apologize and talk it out-that's the key, communication!!!!

Aw, Jenn.

It's okay, times right now are stressful, for both you and your FI (well, you have more right to be more stressful, especially if you're doing a heap of the planning!).

I would give him a call or sit down and have a talk with him and get everything out. I would send apologies to his family, and just try to work things out from there.

I have a tendency to say really hurtful things too at times, so I've been in your position before. I think maybe next time, I always try to stop and think before a single word comes out of my mouth. Sometimes, i have to completely walk away to allow myself time to cool down.

I swear it's support like this that does a girl good!! I am definitely going to apologize to FI tonight, but more importantly, we have to talk about what happened.

I agree. I think the best part is that you really are sorry and realize some things you said might have been hurtful to him. Everything will be okay

I do the same thing then i feel like a jerk .......talk to him it will be ok he loves you remember!

next time just tell him you need a time out - take a 20 min. or how ever long break to cool your head so you can talk about the real issue!

i have said some horrible things to FH that i regret. Usually it takes a few days for him to come around. Just give it time then talk it over when he has had time
