We were at a wedding recently where the groom dance to You Raise Me Up w/ his mother. I teared up , and instantly thought that would be my father/daughter dance.
However, in my research, I've come to see it's very popular for the groom/mother dances, and not really popular for bride/father dances.
Would you still use it?

Re: RP from BHB...............Father /Daughter dance
definitely. I think as long as it's a song that you find special meaning with, it's perfect.

I guess it's a popular man to woman song since it's a guy that sings it......even though some 'oldies' are sung by men, this one seems to be slightly from a guy's POV.....check out the lyrics and see what you think.

Here are the lyrics:
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary; When troubles come and my heart burdened be; Then, I am still and wait here in the silence, Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas; I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up: To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas; I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up: To more than I can be.
There is no life - no life without its hunger; Each restless heart beats so imperfectly; But when you come and I am filled with wonder, Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.
