Rp from PETS

does anyone know of a organization that offers discount coupons or such to have your dog spayed?? we want to have it done this month and the $300 is killing us w/ wedding saving TIA

$300 seems like a lot of money for a spay, how old is your dog and where were you planning on taking him?

I have two pugs, and we neutered them at 6 months old, and it was around $250 - so $300 sounds a little expensive, but about right.

I am not sure where you live, but I brought my dog to Kent Animal shelter. I think it is in Calverton. Here is link to there Website . It was way out of the way for us, but they were great to work with. HTH

There is a clinic on Horseblock Rd by the dumps, Dr Laccha runs it and the price should be a bit cheaper, Brookhaven also has a low cost spay clinic that might be able to help as well as bideawee. :) Good Luck

Spaying is actually more expensive than nuetering.

If you got them through a shelter, they usually offer lower-cost options.

The ASPCA actually has mobile spay/neuter clinics that goes around NY and all you have to pay is $25 and $5 for the cone. My neighbor took her dog because she couldnt afford taking him to an animal hospital and he came out fine!

Im thinking of taking my puppy cuz frankly, I cant afford $350 on that right now either.

is your dog microchipped too? if not, you should ask them about that too b/c microchipping is very impt if your dog gets loose or something.

DH and I had the same problem! It is a lot of money! But, we have a friend of ours that used the Kent Animal Shelter located in the Calverton area. I took our 9 month old puppy there and I was totally comfortable leaving him there. It is $99 for up to 50 pounds and then $115 for 51 and above. I dropped Yogi off between 8 and 9am and I picked him between 2 and 3. He didn't have to wear a cone on his head either...which I totally loved. They used internat stitches and glue on the outside. He didn't even know he had stitches. I highly recommend them!

We bought a Muffins certificate when we spayed our female dog and neutered our male dog - worked perfectly and we saved a lot of money. I highly recommend them.
