RP: How long does it take for brides hair/makeup from start to finish?

Just got off the phone with a salon that said I should budget for 2.5 hours for JUST my hair and makeup. That seems RIDICULOUSLY long... was going to do a simple updo...

Anyone have any ideas how long it should take?

Mel, I think it depends on what you want done. I think it's good that they are telling you to budget more time than less time. If it's going in a direction you're not happy with (prom hair ) there is time to correct the situation.

IMO they could work on you for only 15 minutes and look like a sexy biatch

Im just worried they'll budget so much time and do it so early that I'll look like a smudge fest by the time the ceremony starts! you are right though.. time for do-overs is important!

Are they blow-drying your hair? If so, then maybe they are accounting for that. If not, then that is quite a long time.

Do they even blow dry your hair when you get your Wedding hair done? I have no clue.

NO! NO! Don't have clean hair for your updo! I know this may sound gross but wash your hair and put product in it 24 hours before. You need your hair to have it's natural oils build up and it holds your hair much better. It holds curls, and the hairdo for much longer than freshly cleaned hair.
Trust me! I'm telling you the truth and i'm not trying to 'bed you down'

9:45 BM1 Hair / Makeup Set Up
10:30 BM2 Hair/ BM1 Makeup
11:15 Bride Hair Set/ BM2 Makeup
11:30 BM3 Hair/
12:00 BM4 Hair/ BM3 Makeup
12:45 Bride Hair Style/ BM4 Makeup
1:30 BM5 Hair/ Bride Makeup
2:30 Bride Dresses/ BM5 Makeup/(Girls touchups)
2:45 Bride Veil and Touchups
3:00 Everyone Leaves
