I've seen a dozen or so of these threads... but really... what do I say? What do I wear? What do I do? We're meeting on Wednesday, July 9th. I'm so scared... I haven't been to church regularly since last summer, but I really want to get back into it. FH wants to get confirmed, and we certainly want to raise our children Catholic... I'm just so nervous. I ALREADY had to call and reschedule the appointment (It was originally for 08/01) I feel like a moron.

Don't be scared! Be honest and polite and make sure you explain exactly what you want that day. I wouldn't worry so much...I am sure the priest will be very nice and willing to listen to whatever you need.

Dont stress! I wore my clothes straight from work. (I work in an office) and FH work jeans and a polo shirt. He will make you very comfortable. The priest is the LAST person you have to worry about judging you!

i'm sure everything will be fine. this will probably be the most sentimental meeting out of all your wedding related meetings. take some deep breaths and enjoy the moment. these are the stories you'll be telling your grandchildren about!

Thanks everyone... I just felt like such an idiot because I originally scheduled for 08/01, but realized I have a concert and when I called him back to reschedule the two of us went over about 7 dates before we came up with this one... Before today we had been leaving messages for each other for about two weeks.
I just feel like he must think I'm too busy to meet him... and I had to tell him I work on Sundays...and I work a 4 day work week so I work most evenings until 9 PM.
I know priests aren't supposed to judge and all, but he must think I am too busy to meet him or something... he just happened to call during my busiest week ever. I was so embarrassed to tell him I couldn't meet with him on Saturday because I was having my engagement party.
to all of you! For your future information, I'm known to stress out about the little things moreso than the big ones...

We were nervous b/c FH is not religious and never made his Communion. But the Priest was very nice and accomodating. The one piece of advice is...........DO NOT TELL THEM YOU BOOKED THE RH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have heard this literally from about a hundred brides. Some churches are very strict and they like to think you book the church first since it is the ceremony and all that stuff.

don't worry, you will be fine, the priest will just ask you and FH some questions like if you believe what the church believes, why you want to get married in the church, etc... but like Christine said, i didn't tell them i booked the RH because i know they are not keen on that..
