For those travelling 30 minutes or more, are you getting an old Rolls Royce? One limo company told me the ride would be terrible and bumpy since the suspension is old. Did anyone have these experience? I dont want to show up at my cocktail hour green!

Re: RR or other old car.....
I took a RR from Brooklyn to Massapequa and IMO they shouldn't have let us use it.
It wasn't bumpy so much, but since the car can't go above 45 mph, we still had to go slow when we finally got out of traffic, so we couldn't make up any time.

Re: RR or other old car.....
I am getting a 1940 Cadillac. What I am doing is taking it from my house to the church and then to a place to take pictures. Then after that we are jumping in the limo, with the rest of the bridal party. Everywhere I am going is only about a 10-15min drive.
30 minute commute is long in an old car like that. I would talk to the limo company. Are you getting married at a church? Maybe you could do something like I am doing.

Re: RR or other old car.....
i was told by several companies that it wouldn't be good to use a RR for a 40 minute ride since tehy have a tendency to break down more frequently over long distances...

We are getting a Diamler convertible, it looks like a rolls. He had the Diamler and a few others (rolls, caddy, buick, and the excalibur) that he said he was positive would have no problem making the 45 minute drive from Rockville Centre (where the limo company is) to my house in Smithtown (once there, FF is not far from my house so that's not the big deal, it's the distance from the limo place to my house). As for the ride, for my Senior Prom I actually used a rolls royce. It was not as smooth as an 05 Lexus don't get me wrong but it was not nearly to the point where I would say oh that was a 'bad' ride. And when we showed up at the prom everyone looked and people were even taking their pics in front of our car so no one knew that it isn't the smoothest riding car because it is so old and it was a big hit... and most importantly, it still looked brand new because it was in such good condition. That was a 47 Rolls, my Diamler is newer and actually even rides better than that so I think you could do that or one of the other cars my limo place had. My company is Royalty Limo and they were very helpful and have a HUGE fleet of classics that they are confident in and they offer for long rides. They not only have one diamler, they have three. So I feel very confident with them. Good Luck!!
