rsvp ?

are you going to buy extra plates at your hall in case someone replies no and they end up coming,? or someone dont reply and comes?

nope! i am calling anyone who deosnt RSVP if they show up anyway they dont eat!! the cocktail hour will fill them up! i will not have extra seats available either......i think thats very VERY rude to not rsvp and just show up!

Sorry if anyone thinks that is rude but oh well.....I really dont care. I had family who didnt even RSVP to my Eparty or my brothers and i left them out of the wedding all together. People cant take the time and consideration to at least RSVP or call or something i dont want them there!

i think you are more likely to have people rsvp yes and not show than vice versa, so i wouldnt add extra plates. also, i think your hall is more likely to let you add an extra plate if necessary than to take one off without being charged for it.

if someone RSVP'd no and then showed up without warning.... i think they deserve to feel out of place and not have a seat/meal

I am not planning on extra seats. Sometimes people who RSVP do not attend for odd reasons. If by chance some who do not RSVP at all do come, they can fill in the empties if available. I am not worrying about that now or later THEY can figure it out.

Hell no. If you don't RSVP and you show up, you better bring a bagged dinner. I'm not asking my parents to shell out more than they have to. If anyone does this to me, they will fell the wrath of the bride.

Absolutely not....there will definitely be more no shows or last minute 'no's' than extra people coming..I was told to give a lower number for the final head count because of no shows. You can always pay more if more show up but if you pay extra for those who don't shoe...you are out the money

Re: rsvp ?

only plan for who is definitely coming, usually the RH has some extras on hand so if someone does show up unexpectedly they can be fed and then you square up with RH at the end of the nite if there are extras

I agree. We had 7 no shows at our wedding. People get sick, etc. I was told to give a lower count too (although I didn't). I spoke to the hall beforehand about people just showing up and they said they will accomodate them. If this is a real concern for you, talk to your hall about it. But I wouldn't offer more money then you are obligated to pay.
