RSVP card wording

RSVP card wording

I am trying to do my invites and I am having trouble with the RSVP cards. I have decided to put a line that indicates how many guests are invited since FH and I both think we will have people who will try to bring children and we are not having children at the wedding.
right now it reads as follows:
Kindly respond by
March 10, 2012
M____________________________
____ people will attend with pleasure
_____ Declines with regret
___ Seat(s) have been reserved in you honor

I just don't think it sounds right... did anyone else do this? How did you word it?
Thanks!

This!! The only thing I would change is the first line to 'The favor of your response is requested by the 14th of September' But, I'm not sure if you want to be that formal. Here's a link to the response card section of wedding paper divas. It gives you a good idea of the different phrases you can you use. HTH!

This is exactly what we did too! I would like to see people try to bring unwelcome guests now! Haha

Are you writing in the # of seats reserved or having it printed up with your invitations?

Re: RSVP card wording

I'm writing the # in with a calligraphy pen. The ones are my grandmother's widowed friends who I know will try to bring their children and grandchildren with them (I'm talking coming with literally 6-10 additional people).

We actually only did the # thing because of them. Everyone is getting invited with a guest aside from them.

Re: RSVP card wording

We are writing it in.

FHs family is from the mid west and they are use to very informal weddings where everyone is invited. We are worried that they will bring their children and relatives who are not invited.
At first I thought doing the response cards like this was tacky but now I feel like I have no choice.
I dont want extra people at my wedding... and more importantly I don't want people on my side to get offended that their children weren't invited and see other children there.
