Wedding date is May 28 - what day should I put as the RSVP date? What day are you other Memoria Day brides doing?

Re: RSVP date?
I put April 10th! Just to give me time to call all the no responders!

Wow, that seems really eary! Aren't the invites supposed to go out 2 months beforehand? Are you sending yours even earlier? I didn't know how clueless I was about invites until I made a feeble attempt at putting mine together.

Re: RSVP date?
i am also sending them out the first week in March! I think the earlyier the better b/c you want some time to call the no responders. I am in my last semeter of graduate school next semester and do not want to be crunched for time!

Re: RSVP date?
Someone told me that if you do it too early then people may not know that far in advance if they can go or not (if they have to work, etc.) so you may end up getting some people who say yes, but are then no shows. I guess it depends on your guest list though.

Re: RSVP date?
I just ordered my invites (early, yes I know). My RSVP date is March 31st. So plan on a month and a few days ahead.
If you order your invites from a printing shop, they have a book where they will look up your date and give you an approximate date that they will recommend for you to use for your RSVP date.

Re: RSVP date?
March seems better. B/c people never mail in time and you need time send invitations for your B List Guest and give the Hall a head count.

Re: RSVP date?
April 1st this way it gives time to the procrastinators and you can make follow-up calls. this way you can then get your seating arrangements stated.

Re: RSVP date?
I figured around the 10th to the 15th of April...I figured that way I still have time to contact all the no-responders

Re: RSVP date?
I think you're supposed to send the invites no earlier than 8 weeks before the weddding and then the rsvp date should be 4 weeks before. If you send earlier, guests may forget to rsvp.

Re: RSVP date?
I would not set the RSVP date earlier than 4 weeks. you will have people that won't respond by then if it's earlier. THey simply won't know if they can make it. Save the Date or not.
Also, when does your caterer need a final head count? I would try to arrange it around then.
