The place I'm getting my invites from just sent me a prrof of the writing on my invites. My wedding is October 19 and she said my rsvp date should be September 19 and that I should send them out the week of August 19. I was showing my co-worker and she told me that September 19 as an rsvp date is cutting it close and I should do maybe Sept. 1 and send them out in the middle of July. Do you think the lady at the invitation place is right about the rsvp date or should I go with what myco-worker told me?

Re: RSVP Date
they are both 'right' -- there is no one right answer.
many people make the rsvp date 1 month before, and send out 1 month before that. however, if your wedding is on a holiday, a busy time of the year (like summer when many travel) or you have many oot guests a lot of people send our invites earlier.
I'd say RSVP date of 4-6 weeks in advance, and sending it out 2-3 months before your wedding day is probably about the typical range.

Re: RSVP Date
we have our rsvp date exactly 1 month before
- i think its a good time - i think people might be more likely to remember because its the 17th for both - not too far in advance, but leaves us enough time
we are sending out invites sometime in mid-late may
- ill be in ny may and june and want some invites to come while i'm around - we have a lot of ooters, some who didnt get STDs - my mom used to sell invites and said to send out 2 months before the rsvp date - cant wait to send them!!! - want to be able to gauge how many people will be coming since we have so many ooters and a big guest list
