RSVP date

RSVP date

I am ordering my invitations and I just want to make sure of the RSVP date.. how far in advance are you girls making your RSVP date? My wedding is June 12, 2010, and I put down May 12, 2010 as the RSVP deadline. Should I make this any earlier? Thanks!

I made my RSVP one month prior, as well. I think you have it right.

I can't believe how early you're ordering your invitations! You're so ahead of the game.

Most brides put one month to the day. I did this and I wished I had put 5 weeks...because you usually get ppl who don't send back the RSVP cards and then you have to chase some of them down and then make a seating chart for the placecards, and get the placecards done...so the more time the better for you to do those...plus if you want to invite a 'B' list you want to have time to send those and receive the RSVP from those guests as well...hope I didn't overwhelm you lol...

haha yeah i guess bc i've been engaged since last april that i have pretty much everything booked already and i'm getting bored!

Mine is 3 weeks before the wedding. That gives two weeks to followup before we need to give a total head count.

I put our date as 6 weeks before the wedding. We didn't do STDs so I sent our invites out VERY early (April 1st -- so over 3 months before the wedding) so people could plan. Our response date is 6/5.

So far, so good! Got lots back and I'm very pleased. I like the idea that I have a little over a month to ask some extra friends from work or to track down rogue responses if need be.

I think we're probably going to do more along the lines of 6 weeks also. That way you have time to track down the no-shows + get out B lists invitations too if you're doing that.

My invites are going to be sent out 8 weeks before, and I gave my rsvp as 2 weeks from when they recieve it.
I know that I personally send my responses back immediately so that I dont have time to forget or misplace the card- I'm hoping that will happen with my invites as well. I know I dont want to be chasing people down for their answers!!

But, I sent out Save the Dates, so my guests are already aware of the date, and have blocked it off on their calendars... HTH.

btw- kudos to you for having your stuff planned out so early!
