my wedding is 11/4/06, i was thinking about doing the RSVP date as 9/30/06, which is 5 weeks before. we have a ton of OOT guests, do you think this is early enough?? they have to book their hotel rooms by 10/3/06 to get the group rate.

That sounds ok. Just make sure you send out your invites at least 1 month prior to the RSVP date.

our rsvp date was 6 weeks before the wedding. we sent them out giving people about 6 weeks to rsvp

ours is 4 weeks prior.. i think 5 is ok.. it kinda gives OOT'ers a clue to make their arrangements asap!
but expect straglers, so that give you some time to follow up with them! If you have a lot of OOT'ers than 5 is fine! it is a wedding people should know by then if they are attending or not!
