RSVP date - how many weeks prior to wedding?

I am taking an informal poll: How many weeks in advance of your wedding was your RSVP date? I have a call into my hall for their suggestion, but was wondering what some of you did.

My wedding was Oct 22, my rsvp date was Sept 22 and my invites went out Aug 17

Janaury 19th is my rsvp date. My invites are going out (I hope!!) December 1st so they don't get mixed up with holiday cards.

My invitations were sent out the first week of August with an RSVP date of 9/11, my wedding was 10/9.

How do things work if you have a 'B' list? I am assuming you use the same RSVP date for those invites (so you don't have to print a different set of RSVP cards) but hope that the A list people respond early enough so there is time to send out Bs. Am I correct?

That's what I'm hoping. I am going to send out my invites in enough time for their RSVP's to come back timely. Hopefully this will allow me to invite B list people in enough time that they don't know they are B list people.
