So my mom and I screwed up and had the RSVP date on the invites as Oct 1st which leaves only 18 days before the wedding to find out if people are coming or not ! We have to let FH know two weeks before for a final head count which only leaves like 4 days to stalk people. What do I do??? any advice????? TIA

Re: RSVP DATE- NEED ADVICE!!!
i'd split your list into 4 (both moms, you and FH). as people RSVP check them off.. on the day of your RSVP hand out the lists and tell them to start calling.

Re: RSVP DATE- NEED ADVICE!!!
Maybe you could make a wedding website that has an RSVP feature on it (www.ewedding.com or www.mywedding.com). Then list the wedding website on a separate card with the invite. People usually find it more convenient to RSVP online than to send something out (even though its really not that difficult) and are more likely to RSVP this way.
With that said, some people still wont RSVP. To make it easier, I would number the RSVP cards incase someone forgot to write their name. Even though you will have to rush to call the people who didnt RSVP, this way you will actually know who did and didnt RSVP.
Wow, sorry for the long response. Hope it all makes sense haha.

you make sense- don't worry. I am definitely planning on numbering the responses. Hopefully since I plan on sending them out early, people will rsvp to get it out of the way. wishful thinking

Did you send out the invites out yet? If not then I would get someone to calligraphy that one line on sticky paper & then just stick it on top.

Re: RSVP DATE- NEED ADVICE!!!
If you have the extra money (its really not alot) go to staples and buy cards, they have cards that are about the same size as an RSVP card, reprint the RSVP with the date you want it to be. i would NOT send them out that way and I would NOT rely on the website with the RSVP feature-not everyone uses the internet, not everyone WILL rsvp or even look at the website.
I would reprint them, they may not match but that doesnt matter. 18 days is not enough for you to get it all together-technically you only have 4 days since you have to give them your final count 2 weeks before. NO WAY dont take the chance! Reprint them

uggh you are probably right, I wish I would have caught it, I did it all so fast and have had them for a while and just noticed it recently. This stinks!

Re: RSVP DATE- NEED ADVICE!!!
You can send a letter to all the people invited and use the confused bride card and ask them to kindly rsvp by a date you want them too. I have gotten a letter like that before and I didn't think it was tacky or anything at all.

I feel like you shouldn't have to check up on anyone. They have plenty of time to respond, and making a response date the first of a month makes it even easier to remember. If they miss it, they miss it. That's the last thing you should be worrying about . . .
People want to come to your wedding more than you want them to be there . . . . it's an exciting awesome event for the guests!!!!!! If they can't respond on time, then they miss out . . . . that's all there is to it.

wait til you send your invites...its just the nature of the beast. I received more then 50% of my rsvps after the date. People forget, life gets in the way-I dont really think its a matter of people not wanting to be there.
And to say people want to come more then you want them there is pretty gutsy...ive gone to weddings I DONT want to go to plenty of times but go out of respect.

ITA.. the week before the wedding I was still trying to track down guests.. I wish it were that simple- but when it comes to family and close friends, it never is
to the OP- try splitting the guest list and track down guests asap following the RSVP date.. Good luck!
