RSVP - Did I do it wrong?!?

RSVP - Did I do it wrong?!?

I'm more than halfway done with my RSVP cards (printing, cutting, mounting onto cardstock, etc), and now I realize I may have made a mistake. I wrote:

M_______________________

___ accepts with pleasure
___ declines with regret

but... I forgot to include the # of guests attending. Is it worth my time to redo them (it took me forever to do these)? If I leave them as-is, and the 'accepts with pleasure' line is checked, should I assume that both people I invite (if they're a couple) are coming???

I did not put the line for number of seats. Mine will look just like that. Your guests will write their names on the M___________ line so you know how many people are coming.

hm... I think usually there is a space to write how many guests, but I would think most people would write in Mr. & Mr.s so and so... but could leave you wondering if the single people you invited with + guest are coming alone if they don't write in plus 1.

i know its a lot of work to redo them but i would honestly write the number of of guests...just to be sure. some people have no wedding etiquette.

you could just give the ones you already made to people that DO NOT have +guest

I did mine exactly like that. It was fine.

I did mine like that as well (no # of seats reserved) so far no problems.

Mine is like that, so they would fill in Ms. Jones & Mr. Smith.

I did mine the exact same way. To help my sanity in case someone doesn't fill out the M__________ I put a # inside each of the envelopes in a hidden area that matches what I have in my spreadsheet.

I've never received an invite that asked me how many guests are coming (although i know people on here have done it to avoid confusion). I've only seen the way you did it, so you are definitely fine.

same here. save your sanity and leave it alone

you did it correctly. Your invitation will be addressed to the party and that will dictate the # of guests. All adults get their own invitation even if they reside in the same household (parents would get a Mr. and Mrs. and the living at home daughter would get a Miss or Ms.). Don't say _____ family and leave yourself open. If it's a parent(s) and a child or children have their names on the invite whether the exterior or interior envelope so it's clear. You invite more trouble (and guests) if you ask for the #

Re: RSVP - Did I do it wrong?!?

I had a line for # of guests attending and it seemed to only confuse things. People I invited '& guest' weren't sure what to put - thinking that I was asking for how many guests they were bringing - not including themselves For example, People who were bringing a guest put 1 instead of 2

I would leave it the way you have it. If there is confusion, you could always contact the few in question.

I don't think you did it WRONG, per say ...

The '# of persons' line tackles an awkward situation early ... Like, if you have someone RSVP that they are bringing 4 guests, when the invitation only said Ms. Smith and guest (I can't believe how many people I've actually seen do it!) ... that line could also help you if someone only writes out one name when the invite was for more.

thanks for all your input... i can see how both ways can have their problems. with that said, i think i'll send them out as they are - no use spending time redoing them if i can have issues with that way, too! i still have so much more to do!

i think that's fine. people will likely put the number in the ___ before teh regrets or attends part

I think you are fine! Most invites I receive are exactly what you did so don't worry

Re: RSVP - Did I do it wrong?!?

Most are exactly like yours. I've only seen invites from 'the ;ady' with number fo guests.

Also, what they write on the line will indicate the number of people coming

Mr. Jones vs. mr and mrs jones
