Re: rsvp ettiquette
I don't know what the 'proper' etiquette is.......but I've read a lot of posts on here where brides are calling the guests that did not reply. While it might not be considered proper, I definitely think it is the norm.

I would wait until a day or 2 after your RSVP date, then call. Some people don't send them out until late, and some people forget all together. And then there are those who assume you know they're coming.

Re: rsvp ettiquette
I called about 4 people.....I waited until a few days before I had to give in my head count which was over 2 weeks past the rsvp date. They were like 'of course we're coming'....I told them to mail the rsvp card back even though I spoke to them. I wanted proof just in case !

I cant stand when they dont send it back because you are supposed to 'assume' that they are coming . I think alot of my FH family feels this way. Call me nuts, but I like to have that little RSVP card sitting in front of me

Call. The card could have gotten lost in the mail, the guests could have forgotten to mail it.
You don't want to have of people show up at the reception and not have a place to sit, or a favor to take home. Never mind the fact that you will also have to pay for them.

i would definitely call.. if they're being rude by not responding why should you worry if you're being 'proper' or not!

I agree. They're the rude ones by not responding! What do they expect, you to read their minds??? It's fine to call them

Re: rsvp ettiquette
Yep- call or have your mother, FMIL call... I actually sent an email a day or two before the RSVP date reminding people about hotel etc and got a lot of responses that RSVPs were sent (lost in mail) or they lost the invitation and weren't coming, etc...then a day after the RSVP I made phone calls, of those I got a fwe return calls and then after a week or so with no response made second calls to people--I NEVER heard back from two people to this day and haven't heard from them since!!!!

Re: rsvp ettiquette
We waited a few days after our RSVP and then started to call people. We only had a week in between the RSVP date and when we owed the final payment on the hall.

Re: rsvp ettiquette
if it was one of my friends, I called.
my mom's cousins didnt respond, so I had my grandma call her sister - they are coming, they forgot to send them back- so just because someone didnt send it back doesnt mean they dont plan on coming
