RSVP freakout- too many people!

So, we invited 291 people, but about 50-60 of them we were expecting to be no's because of the holiday weekend (getting married memorial weekend), and because alot of my dad's extended family was invited because we felt that we had to out of precedence from other weddings in which we were invited but never went... anyway, we have 105 yesses, only 12 no's, and still waiting on 176 more RSVPs and I'm starting to worry that we are going to have alot more yesses than I anticipated :(

A few of the extended family actually RSVPd yes too which gave me a bit of a panic attack since I've never even met them and we just assumed they would say no! I'm really hoping that like 50 of those 176 RSVPs end up being no's lol

I have the same fear as my list keeps getting bigger and I haven't even sent out my invitations yet.

REALLY go through and pick the people you 100% want there and wait to send the other invites to your 'not as important' guests lol- I wish I waited a couple of weeks to send to the extended family, because I probably wouldnt have ended up inviting them if I knew I was going to get so many yesses!

Ahh im totally scared of this! originally thought we'd invite 175 for 150 to actually come and now it's looking like 220 and Im praying for 180. So stressful!!

I don't know if it always happens, but the majority of our no's came last minute!

From what I've noticed, the people who tend to RSVP 'yes' will respond much quicker. Typically it's the 'no's' that will drag it out to the end (frustratingly so), so hopefully this will occur in your case! :)

well i hope you are all right! because i'm going to shoot myself if all of these people come! the milleridge cottage ballroom is big, but idk if 250 people will be all that comfortable at cocktail hour lol- if it rains that day and nobody can sit outside then we're screwed!

This is us exactly! And now I'm getting calls from cousins and friends if its ok to bring their new bf/gf! Ugh :(

That is exactly our numbers too!!! The list kept growing....fingers crossed for 180!!

last guest count was 180. We guaranteed our hall 125. FH has a lot of OOT from the west coast and our wedding is right before Thanksgiving so I'm hoping to be at 125 but we shall see lol...praying too

that's crazy! We are putting out list together now, and I'm waiting for the part from my FILs. I'm scared because they want to invite all of this extended family that FH and I barely know and FH keeps telling me they won't come, but I'm starting to doubt that! Good luck with your RSVPs!

OMG you guys are making me so nervous. Im inviting 155 but my FH keeps coming up with more people we have to invite ( i got his side of the list from FMIL) My room holds max 130 and I know like 90% of my list are going to be yes's because they are all immediate family.

I am struggling with making my final list because it keeps growing and growing!! My mom wants to add like everyone she knows from church and I don't know anyone. This doesn't even leave room for any of my friends!! It is so frustrating. I think we will just make an A,B & C list and go from there...

But my RSVP date has passed and there was a good chunk of people that never RSVPed from my dad's list. He said they were all saying no. So my no's jumped from 25 to almost 50 and now we have a respectable 240. I would've invited other people if those people had the courtesy to say no but I'm ok with 240 guests. So unfortunately, it's true. The no's wait until the last minute or don't RSVP at all.

This makes me feel better.. although I'm really hoping for like 220 haha
