RSVP frustration

RSVP frustration

We are one week away from the RSVP date and have only receive 40% of the responses. Is this normal? We're getting really frustrated, especially at close friends and family members who we know are going, but can't be bothered to throw the RSVP in the mail box! Have others received the majority of responses in the last week leading up to the RSVP date?

To follow up, we also sent out Save the Dates about 8 months ago, so 80% of the guests knew the wedding date far in advance. Grr...

I'm sorry about this. I feel your pain. I had this same issue (and STD were sent as well). I ended up having to call my father's side of the family who all conveniently 'lost' my invitation. We also had to facebook message about 4 'friends' because they would not respond to texts/phone calls but were always posting on facebook.

Some people just don't understand that weddings aren't birthday parties held in someone's backyard. You can't just show up.

We had quite a few RSVPs that came in the week it was due and the week after so hopefully the same will happen. Sometime people wait until the last minute to send it to make sure they can come.

Totally normal, unfortunately. We sent out our engagement party invites with plenty of time to respond. We literally had to track people down for responses. So inconsiderate.

This is quite the norm. You will definitely have to stalk some people. Don't get frustrated and stressed. You may want to consider handing off the 'people stalk list' to your mom or another person helping you out.

Did you put the stamps on the rsvp's? What amount stamp did you put on them? I am having this problem now. When I had everything weighed for postage they said the rsvp's qualified for the post card amount of .33 cents. I have received 10 responses so far so obviously that amount is correct. But my cousin just called me from New Jersey and said the post office is telling her it should be .46 cents? I told her just put it in the mail and it should be fine because I have received 10 back already. Since most people don't post their return addresses on the rsvp's maybe this could be part of the problem because I'm paranoid now that this is going to happen.
