Ok, so i just got off the phone with my mom and i'm fuming!! I got a response in the mail from one of my cousins. I invited him and a guest. On his response card he wrote his name and the names of two kids he adopted (ages under 13). We are already having like 15 kids at this wedding because we both have a lot of nieces and nephews. We did not invite anyone elses kids. I asked my mom if she could call my aunt (his mother) and tell him that we're sorry but we do not want the children there. It's not fair to all my other cousins who have kids there age and we already have too many kids coming! My mom kept insisting that i let him bring these kids. She said he's so proud to be a parent now and wants the kids to be around family. I'm sure all of the parents that are coming are proud of their kids! How do i make her get that its not a big deal to tell him nicely that he is invited not the kids!!!!!

If your mom is paying and you you already have 15 kids coming- maybe you should just let them come.
If you are paying- just call your cousin and let him know that there were only a few kids invited and it's nothing against him but he cannot bring his children.

We just went through this. FH called his mom and said we are keeping it on a relative level. Our nieces and nephews would be there but we are not inviting cousins. There would be too many children and it is a rather large expense that we simply can not afford right now. It was not fair to allow one cousin to bring their child and not the others.

We are paying for half of the wedding and feel that we have too many kids already. To have two more boys (who last time i saw them they wouldn't stop running around and hitting each other and screaming!) i just feel its going to turn into a circus! I have to let him know 'No offense, but they ain't comin!'

It's tricky when some kids are allowed and others are not....that's why we did no kids. I would personally call your cousin and explain. People need to learn to follow the names on the invite! I hope i don't have too much of this drama cause i will totally call people..lol

I KNOW!! Before i sent the invites out i told FH that sometimes people do this and he was like 'no way, it clearly states whos invited'. I called him and told him about this and he was like 'are you kidding!?'

I'm srry you are going through this. I would call your cousin and explain...maybe your mom feels awkward doing it.
