RSVP Marker?

RSVP Marker?

I'm probably not going to make any sense to most of you...but I've heard of this and wanted to get your opinions.

Some stupid people will not put their names on the RSVP card or will write something that is totally illegible.
To keep track of who's coming and who's not, I've heard of numbering the RSVP's with a marker, that's only visible under a black light. This way, your guests don't see it, and you can keep track of everyone's responces.

I'm not sure where to get this but think it's going to solve a lot of problems down the line.

Any thoughts?

I love the idea!!!! But when they send their cards back to you dont they give their return address so that you do know who it is from?

Where would you get the marker and the black light...I guess just the bulb right?

That's the thing! The RSVP card only has your address on it...therefore, if they don't write their name on the rsvp card, you're screwed. I've seen it written in pencil...even pen! I'd like to avoid that though

I did the 'marking' in pencil... and it did help...

we had people do this...

mr. and mrs. Caputo

HELLO---- there were 5 cousins with the same mr and mrs caputo... numbering helped us!

We're marking the RSVP cards as well, but with pencil (or pen) instead of marker. I dont think it'll matter if the guests see the number on the back. They either wont know what it means or they'll just ignore it.

Here's the one I'm ordering:

PEN/LIGHT

It's a pen and light all in one! It's only $8!

I did it with a pencil. It helps. If Guests see it, it won't matter.

And to answer the above poster's question about return address, a lot of my guests are NOT bothering to write a return address so I would never know. Numbering is great.

Number them in pen...its easy and no one will notice or care.
