rsvp question

so...our rsvp date was sept 4th and we're still missing about 26 cards.
When i start calling to see if these people are coming or not, do i ask them to still send the reply card back, or just take their yes or no over the phone?
The one problem i have is that my parents are going away sunday and will be stopping the mail for almost 2 weeks. Which means i wont be getting any cards after saturday..I was using saturday as my cut off date to start making the calls.

I am missing some too, I am going to call them this weekend and ask for their answer on the phone. NEED MORE TIME, Tough, you already had 6 weeks!! YES OR NO right now, maybe i will give them 48 hrs to respond via phone, but if I don't hear from them they are considered a no, and I will make sure they understand that. May sound mean, but enough already, Sick of RSVP's...

Can your parents lift the stopping of their mail? That timing really sux. Or re-directed to you?

I would get the responses on the phone- but you don't want anyone slipping through the cracks.

I would start calling anyone you have not heard from now since the rsvp date has already passed and get their response over the phone...

Re: rsvp question

Just take them over the phone. My RSVPs are due by Saturday and I know I'll be making a lot of calls next week. I want their answer and I will also let them know how disrespectful it is for the host to have to hunt them down for their reply. My mom has one cousin that has not replied to my e-party, my shower and now my wedding. I have no intentions of calling to see if they're coming, but I am planning on sending them a letter letting them know how inconsiderate they are. Given the fact that they are adults and have had their own wedding, they should know better. They will bever recieve and ivitations from me for any occasion again.
