So we are receiving an overwhelming amount of 'no's' for our wedding, and it really makes me sad.
So far, we have a little over half of our RSVPS back, and from people who have told me, I counted about 20 more yes, and the others I have no clue what they are doing.
So now that everyone waited so long to RSVP no, I am stuck with my B list. I waited to send out my B list bc we just recently got a huge amount of no's and my RSVP date on my response card is June 3. What do I do?? People are going to obviously know that they were on the B list!
Did anyone else have this problem? How did you handle it??

Re: RSVP question
Pretend like you mailed it out already and the postoffice must have delayed it. Not like it cant happen they did it to me.

Re: RSVP question
call and ask why they haven't RSVP'd and when they say they didn't get the invite, get really upset with the PO because they lost another one of your invites, and be sure to tell your guest that you will mail a new one right away!

Re: RSVP question
If they are people you expected to come I would call.
I also suck on sending out my A list invites so I wouldn't say much except I am super busy and sorry for the short response time. I think a short response time is better... not a lot of time to wait around!

Re: RSVP question
Well alot of my B list i was just honest with. . told them that I was soooo happy I could invite them b/c space opened up but they were all people I knew would not be offended b/c they knew how tight my list originally was. . people were very excited but that's just the way I worked it. .I think most people get it. . if not, I agree you can just mail it after asking if they are coming or not. .
or just change the 3 to a 13 . heck we used to do that on our drivers liscense when we were underage

Re: RSVP question
I just called a couple of people and explained that I had to limit my guest list because of family and was happy that I was able to invite them now. I felt horribly awkward but I didnt want to lie and say that PO lost it or anything...I did feel badly but they seemed excited and not offended at all!

This is what I would do. The PO loses things all the time so it is definitely plausible.

I agree.... I think I would do that one because eventhough someone may sound excited on the phone that all of a sudden they are invited..... they may not really feel that way.

Re: RSVP question
Thanks girls, but I dont think the PO lie will work bc there are a few people who are related to others who got the invite and quite honestly I have about 2 invites left, so I might just have to bite the bullet and tell the truth and just verbally invite them or just send them an incomplete invite with just the info for the church and reception.
It just really hurts that I got as many no's as I did. I guess its a holiday weekend and all, but most people knew about it, i sent STDs and have been talking about it for 2 years now. Oh well I guess if they really wanted to be there, they would have re-arraigned their schedules

This is whatr I plan on doing. There is only so much we can do, having a wedding is expensive! I think most people will understand this. If they are on a 'B list' they are usually close friends but not your closest, so I am hoping, and would think they would understand.

Re: RSVP question
I too was totally shocked and very disappointed by the overwhelming 'no' responses. It was especially upsetting that those that I truly expected to say 'yes' waited until after the rsvp due date and I had to email them asking for their responses, at which point they told me 'no'. This is so rude! You make it so easy for them prepaying the card and all. How difficult is it to drop it in the mail box? Especially if they know for sure that they're not coming, why wait until AFTER the rsvp due date and screw us over so that we can't even invite our B list anymore (because the due date has now passed).
It also pisses me off that so many people acted all fake-excited when I collected their addresses. They were like 'Oh my Godddd, I cannot wait! So excited'. Meanwhile, most of them had no intentions to attend the wedding in the first place. Why not just be honest about it upfront?
As you can see, this is a very sour topic for me :(

this is exactly what i did!
and for a few i called to say i got it back with the 'no such address' on it to double check their address. but either way you avoid the awkward 'b list' thing. . GL :o)

Re: RSVP question
I know what you're going through! Our RSVP date is Friday and I'm missing about 30 response cards. Also, as you can see on my SN, I only have 90 yes responses... we invited about 170 people. Kinda a crazy ratio!
I don't really have a B-list, but I think I'd change the 5 to a 15 if I had to at this point. I really can't think of anyone other than a few co-workers or maybe some HS friends I might want to invite along. (Right now I only invited 3 friends from high school... mind you I'm 12 years out of HS but I do keep up with more people than via facebook and stuff than I used to... I'm still not sure what to do since so many of them didn't invite me to their weddings...)
Good luck and hope it works out!
