So in invited someone plus one and left the response card blank so they can fill in their name. And they only put their name ...do I assume they are not bringing a guest?

I wouldn't take anything for granted because people will surprise you. Just call or email to double check. This is why I added 'Number attending' to our RSVPs as well.

I would say they are coming by themselves but if you are questioning it, it doesn't hurt to give them a call to double check

thanks guys. I had this recurring thought yesterday that I would count and seat only one and then they bring a date and I would have to scramble to find seating.
