So if I have May 4th as my RSVP deadline, is it innapropriate to email a few of my friends who did not respond yet and just ask them to give me an idea if they are going to make it? I know I should probably wait but we are RIGHT at our minimum and I want to invite more folks if they can't come and don't want to make it seem soooo dreadfully last minute. . what do you think?
TIA

Hmmm I think maybe it would be better if you were casually asking people that you actually see in person? Ya know?
Or if you happen to be talking with someone, to ask them then.

Re: rsvp questions
Are any of these missing RSVPs close friends or the younger generation? If so, call them and explain why you want to know now. I'm sure they'll understand.

I don't think its wrong to email them to see if they are coming...we didn't do this and we should have because by the time the last minute 'no' came in, we didn't have time to send invites to any one on our 'B' list...

Re: rsvp questions
We asked certain close friends and family members if they were coming before the deadline to RSVP actually passed. We phrased it sort of as 'we wanted to know if you were coming -- we have a small list of people we are going to invite if you can't come but of course we would rather have you there!'

Re: rsvp questions
Well if you gave them until May 4th, I'd wait until May 4th. If you ask them before hand, it kind of defeats the purpose of having an RSVP date. JMO.
Were they invited with guests? Maybe they're waiting to hear from their potential guests to make sure they can come?

Re: rsvp questions
I did the same thing about 2 1/2 weeks before for the same reason. I only did it with people I felt super comfortable asking. I think it's okay as long as you feel out the right people. I made it like ohhh we're s close I can ask you thank god b/c there's so many people feel funny calling blah blah and it makes people feel good and they respond...

Re: rsvp questions
Unless they are close friends who you know really wouldn't be offended i would wait. You could write the email then just send it out may 5th to hopefully get a quick reponse
