RSVP Rant

FH's father invited like 25 couples to our wedding that we do not know. As if that wasn't obnoxious enough, I just got a RSVP from a couple who is FH's dad's friends who added 2 people (presumably their children) to the RSVP. They are apparently coming from North Carolina.

I had a feeling this was going to happen. Unfortunately we are over occupancy and we did invite some children that were family members. However, we do not even know these people and our place cannot fit all these people.

I am so annoyed right now. FH is in Vegas on his b-party right now but I need to get in touch with him b/c I don't want these people booking the plane tickets with their children.

Oh, yeah, and we are paying for the wedding ourselves too

So frustrating!! We are running in to similar problems.
Good luck with everything... I would call those people and say we are over capacity that is why we didn't invite your kids!!!! Where do people get the B*LLS????

I just love how everyone has an opinion as to who you should invite...how about it is your day and no one that you don't know should be there...or their kids!

I would tell FFIL that it is out of the question that these people bring guests unless HE wants to chip in some cash

I can't believe the nerve of these people! Don't they realize that you pay per person??

i would call them and talk to them....this happened with our wedding & i nicely explained to people that either tagged on their kids or tagged on guests that either 1) I was very sorry but they can not bring their children...i have family that i didn't even invite with kids and i dont want other people to be offended OR 2) i'm very sorry but I have family members who i didn't even invite with guests that werent in a serious 'RELATIONSHIP'....(and if they are in a relationship with someone i would ask FFIL if he could help out with the money since he didn't let you know about this ahead of time)...relax & BRREEATH!!! everything can be taken care of...i would just make phone calls asap TOMORROW before any airfare or expenses are involved. GOOD LUCK! and here's to poor ettiquet RSVP'ers
