RSVP Reminder Postcard

RSVP Reminder Postcard

Reading all of these RSVP horror stories got me thinking...

What do you think about getting a postcard made on like Vistaprint and mailing it out to people whose RSVPs I haven't received say, a week and a half before the deadline?

Good idea or rude?

If you think its a good idea, any cute ideas on how to word the postcard?

hmm... the bride in me thinks this is a fabulous idea... the wedding guest in me thinks its a little much. i wouldn't say 'rude' and as much as people may need a reminder, i don't think that its necessary. it ***** to make the phone calls but i think that is better than a postcard. JMO...

As a guest I would kinda think its rude and as a bride....I dont think it will help. People that dont send them back by the deadline wont no matter what you do.....so dont waste the money. you will be calling/emailing people no matter what

I know where you are coming from and we have all been through it, but if I got that I would think 'what is wrong with this girl.' I say it will come off as rude, especially to those who have not gone through a wedding recently and do not know where you are coming from.

On the other hand, when my RH sent out reprised directions because of Sayville's parade suddenly the late response cards came pouring in.

But I think its going to get you labeled bridezilla.

Thanks everyone. RSVP postcard idea is out- haven't been a bridezilla up until now and am trying not to turn into one

I don't think it's necessary - I'm 6 days before my RSVP date and I'm just going to email/call people now. Sending another piece of mail seems overkill to me.

Re: RSVP Reminder Postcard

no need for a postcard just be aggresive like I was and I promise you will not have any issues. One day before my rsvp I emailed all the people who hadnot rsvp a friendly reminder asking them if they are able to make the big day. I called my parents told them which people of thiers did not rsvp and had them call them and demand a rsvp bc i was anal (told them to blame it on the crazy bride hee hee) my grandma called me and said one of her friends is known for not rsvping and i said (in a joking way) NO RSVP NO PLATE .. I got a RSVP from her

I text messaged close friends that I know were coming to please rsvp because i was making a keepsake with all the rsvps (BULLSH&T hahah :) call email and hound if you want answers immed. WORKED FOR ME AND I HAve 205 people. I do not have 1 missing RSVP. if they lost the invoite i told them to send me a card hahaha i dont f around i said simple no rsvp no dinner in a joking way but was firm and lied about t he whole keepsake project hahahah

Everytime someone compliments my invitation... I thank them.. then gently remind them to send their RSVP in!! haha!!

So far I've gotten quite a few back. But I'm still in the very beginning.

I also think that if you send the invitation out closer to the due date... people will be more likely to respond ASAP becuase they know they have less time. Whereas if you send it out very early... a lot of people might sit on it thinking they have a lot of time left and then they forget to send it and or lose them. I work with adults.... and we have to give out tests and stuff after they go through training... so this is a practice we use and it works!!

It might seem a little pushy, though I totally understand why you would want to do it. I think (if possible) word of mouth may be better. Tell you mom or MOH who you are missing responses from and maybe they can casually nudge them to send their RSVPs back.
