My mom has been kind enough to throw us an engagement brunch next weekend and today is the RSVP date. It's just a small gathering of aunts and uncles for a low-key brunch, but literally no one from FH's side has responded so I had to start stalking. Turns out two couples told FMIL that they were coming which is all well and good but not the person who is hosting the party. I figured it wasn't a big deal and I would just let it go and put them down as a yes but FMIL was actually on my side and was really mad that they didn't respond to my mom directly (so glad we're seeing eye to eye lately!) and apparently sent her a brother an email demanding he RSVP to my mom LOL.
Then FH contacts another aunt and uncle that say 'of course they're coming' (uhhhh how would I have known that without an RSVP?) and then asks if she can bring her kids. Uhhh WHAT?! If something is addressed to you and your husband how hard is that to comprehend? Good thing FH was the one on the phone to clear it up because I would have had a hard time coming up with something nicer than 'No, I don't want your stupid kids at our party.'
Why would two sixteen and nineteen year old BOYS want to go to something like this anyway? People never cease to amaze me. We're still hunting down his other aunt and uncle as of this post... it's NOT that hard to RSVP.
ugh okay end of rant LOL

UGHHHHH! I can NOT stand people who don't RSVP. It is so frustrating like how darn hard is it to pick up the phone and say yes or no. Pure laziness BUT had you no rsvp'ed to one of their things I bet it would have been the end of the world. I can't deal with people. I told EVERYONE in my family I don't give a #@$@# if someone doesn't RSVP they aren't coming to our wedding end of story. I will not hunt them down or go out of my way to find out, if I don't get it by the date.. screw you.

After our engagement party, I realized I will ALWAYS RSVP as soon as I get the invite. We had to track people down, had no shows who RSVP'd as a yes, and some people we just never heard from. Sorry you have to go through this. And as far as your FH's aunt and uncle wanting to bring their kids, maybe they should know better? Luckily we didn't have to deal with that since we did't really have too many under 18 guests. Good luck!

I ALWAYS rsvp right away, I hate keeping people waiting! The only thing that boggled my mind with the kids thing is that it was addressed to Mr and Mrs blah blah, not the blah blah family ya know? My mom is one of 12, we can't have my 50 first cousins there but his family just doesn't get it. I'm not fuming mad or anything, it just boggles my mind and I feel as if I'm in the twilight zone when people act completely dense.

Same thing happened to me with my Eparty except in reverse lol almost no one on my side rsvp'd but all of FHs side did. My whole family have the 'of course I'm coming' excuse when I had to finally call them. Doesn't anyone realize you have to pay for/plan for them ahead of time?!?! Lol I will rsvp stalk everyone to death when it comes to the wedding now
I have ALSO had to hunt people down!! I swear if I have to do this for the wedding I will just tell people 'Don't bother showing up'.

Seriously!! It's so annoying, not to mention rude and inconsiderate. And it's also not rocket science, it's a yes or no question. Sometimes I just hate people
And by the way, the other aunt and uncle are still at large. Ugh.

2012 Bride Crashing...unfortunately it will get worse with the wedding. My invites went out recently and some responses have been unbelievable. Even though your invite says Mr and Mrs some ppl respond for the whole family! I wish I wrote we have reserved 2 seats for you. ___ of 2 will be attending. I've seen this done and now U understand why!

I've seen that on invitations and I am TOTALLY doing that on ours to make things very clear to these people!
