Ok so we sent out invitatinons and our deadline is April 2. We have only gotten a total fo 78 'yes'. I dont know what to do...i guaranteed 160 do the hall. I am so disappointed that the people who said all along they were comming decided not too due to other commitments. HELLO did they not recieve the save the date sent out at the 1 year mark. I am hoping the JT will throw in some things i mean we are looking at maybe maybe if everything works out 100 people. I have sent out my B list... i dont know what else to do. THanks for lettingme vent. Anyone want to come! lol

Re: RSVP Stress
How many invites did you send out? Reason I ask, people always wait till the last minute to send RSVP's back.
My deadline is April 5th, so far I have 112 Yes and my Min is 175, but I am also missing about 40 RSVP's still which equal 80 people. It's frustrating, but you still have time to get them back.

Re: RSVP Stress
Im sorry to hear about your stress. I feel that you shouldnt worry you still have a week left to get their response. Alot of the time people always wait for the last minute to do things. You asked for April 2nd so they probably is wating for April 2nd. Sont worry everything will be just fine.

Re: RSVP Stress
don't count on JT to thow any extras in for free.. as it will not happen. i had spoke to my BM prior to the wedding thinking that I was going to fall below my min. and they/he would'nt do anything. luckilyi went over my min. by 10 people i had to guarantee 200 and they did they did'nt charge me for the overage.
that being said, rsvp's will slowly trickle in after you deadline. i thought that i was going to have to call 1/2 of the people on my list.. but i ended up calling no one! every single rsvp came in. i had an 2 rsvp's come in the week of the wedding! luckily we knew that they were coming. don't worry.. you will meet your min. or come close to it!

Re: RSVP Stress
awww...you've got time! ppl suuck and wait until the last minute!
i was very disappointed in our guests...we invited 180 ppl and 105 came to the wedding....and that was after i asked a few LIW girls to help me out and be 'seat fillers' for us! i had gotten close to them after the guest list was made...and kind of said 'hey, come for a free meal so it doesn't go to waste!' if you have to...and JT won't throw anything in....have an LIW table! that's what i did!

Re: RSVP Stress
Yeah, what is with the guests that get your save the date, go to your shower and then respond 'No, we can't come due to prior commitments?' That just happened to us with a response we got back this week.

well if its tacky...then i was T A C K Y ! LOL
i would rather ask ppl to come and have a good time and some food, than pay for it to go to waste. my LIW friends understood that! the girls that i asked to come to my wedding, were girls that i have met and hung out with before, but hadn't invited them to the wedding, cause of guest list restraints (at the time we send invites out). either way, who else will understand better...than a fellow bride!
a friend of DH had a wedding at flowerfield back in 2005, they guaranteed 185, and only 155 i think came. they wound up paying $4K for EMPTY SEATS!!!! later they said they wishe they had invited ppl just to say 'hey don't bring a present or anything, just come eat so it doesn't waste'
that's exactly what i did, and i'm glad i did it, cause everyone had a wonderful time!

Re: RSVP Stress
I don’t think it will be tacky. If it is people who you know and speak to regularly on the board then no problem. Everyone here knows how it can get it we all understand that it is much better for food not to go to waste. Plus you get a fun time out of it.
