rsvp ugh......

my moh just got her invitation and claims my rsvp cards are wrong and now all these people are going to assume they can bring children and that everyone can bring dates....

if it's addressed to just one person and it doesn't say & guest shouldn't they get the hint? or if it's addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Smith shouldn't they understand it means no kids?

that it shouldn't say number attending. because people can fill in whatever they want like the whole family. that it should just say accepts or declines.

I thought people would look at envelope and go by that. not just assume when it says number attending that means they can put bring 10 people lol.

don't worry that is how I did mine. Besides you need to have the number of attending guest incase someone isn't bringing a date. One of FH cousins is coming in from FL without her husband and 3 children, if we didn't have the number attending line our number might have been off

I did mine the same way. People should be smart enough to read the envelope and assume the RSVP card is a generic format indicating a number of attendees. Don't worry! Most people do it like that. If you get an RSVP back of someone who should only be a 1 with a 2, you address it with them.

I did mine the same way (# attending) and out of 96 invites sent, not one person rsvp'd for more than were invited. In fact, about 25 people I invited with guests are not bringing them.....had I not asked for a # I would be paying for 25 people who weren't coming.

mine are like that too (DIYing mine).. i'm pretty sure that is the norm for wording, and most people won't RSVP with a guest if the envelope doesn't say &guest on it

I feel better now. I guess my moh just thinks her way is the only way. people still rsvp'd with kids to her wedding so some people I guess don't understand either way.

Don't worry, I'm sure people will get it! I did my rsvp postcards both ways, for people that I knew would understand I just put a number attending line. For those people we invited that I knew wouldn't get it I put '__ seats have been reserved in your honor' and a number attending line.

You definitely need that number attending line so you're good!
