WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!!! our rsvp date was saturday and as of today we are still missing about 27 cards, so a little under 60 people!! I'm giving them til the end of the week, and then i have to start calling..
Now....do you still ask them to mail back the card, or do you take their rsvp over the phone??
these people are making me crazy

Ask them to send the card back. I still have my response cards because some people wrote really nice things on them.
Sorry you're having such problems - after my RSVP date I was still waiting to hear from about 50 people so I know how you feel.

OH MY GOD!! My RSVP date is tomorrow and I am missing around 30 too!! I swear I want to mark them not coming and if they show up get the hell back in your car!! On FMIL refuses to make phone calls, that's another story!!

Definetly call them!!! They should be embarrassed. They are at fault. You want the response card for principal at this point, but what you really need is a response. YES or NO. Betcha they're gonna end up saying yes after all this time.
My best friend does it all the time. she never has any excuses, she just doesn't RSVP. It's disgusting! She assumes they know whe's coming and the sad thing is that she turns it around and says, of course I'm coming you should know that. I'm bad at those things.
There is no excuse for people who do not respond.

We have to start calling about 25 people Thursday. My RSVP was last Wed., and we decided to give everyone an extra week and no more responses. Ugh!!!!
Why cant people just realize that they are adding to our to do list.

Totally understand but your RSVP date is a little bit on the early side -- five weeks before event is a bit soon -- customary is between 2-3. Also, lots of people actually send them out on the RSVP date so with the holiday that may explain some of the delay. Have patience -- all will end well.

seeing from EVERY bride on here how they are always missing rsvp's even up until their wedding (and some even after their wedding has passed ) i can understand making the cut off date a little bit earlier. I dont think its too early. we were just discussing this over the weekend, how people can justify NOT dropping the SASE in the mail!!! Maybe the holiday weekend did mess some people up, and probably did delay some of them that are in the mail, i have heard some people wait until the actual date to put it in the mail... not sure why though
deb is right though, in the end it will be ok, youll just have to make a few phone calls to get there

I have just over 2 weeks to go and some people just called and cancelled and others that rsvped no are now coming

Oh my god, i know what you mean. Our rsvp date was 9/1/04, can you believe that we're still missing about 50!!!!! I'm giving them until the end of this week, then FI and I will both start calling. what a pain in the #$% this is.

my rsvp was saturday too. I am waiting for 67. Most of them told me they are coming, but said thye send the card in.
the best man finally rsvp'd today!
there is one friend I have heard NOTHING from, who I will call & the other 2 peopel I was told by our parents to count as nos.
I am getting a few people telling me they are no longer bring dates.
