If people already know that they can't come to your wedding, why don't they RSVP right away? I was invited to two weddings upstate this year that FH and I just couldn't get up to (between paying for our own wedding and the time of year--travelling wouldn't have happened), and we RSVPed with a NO within 48 hours of receiving the invite.
Why do people think that they don't have to RSVP when they verbally tell you what the answer is going to be?

Re: RSVP vent
Seriously. Write your name, click off 'no,' then put it in the mail. How long does that take? 30 seconds? UGH.
Don't the people who already got married realize that there are reasons why we need these back ASAP? Makes me regret putting down June as the RSVP date. . .I should have said May!

Re: RSVP vent
I had a friend who told me 'I can't wait for your wedding!' so I said 'Great! I haven't gotten your RSVP yet' and he responded 'well, the date isn't until 2 weeks from now so we're waiting to send it in until then.'
WHAT? How frustrating to know that people WAIT for the deadline. The RSVP was completed and sealed and just sitting on that friend's table waiting to be dropped in the mail.
AND this was someone who got married the year before me so knew all about RSVP drama.

Soooo true!!! I am still waiting for RSVPs from 50 people (my deadline was Tuesday -- the 15th!) and even then it is only that low because I just go so fed up this week that if people verbally told me no I marked them as No... The number of RSVP cards I am missing is like 36 which comes out to 80 people and that is ridiculous!

They have GOT to be joking. If you already know that you're going, SEND THE DAMNED THING IN! Geez. These must be the people who waited until the last minute to hand in papers in college, too!!! If your boss gives you a deadline for paperwork, you don't wait until the last minute to work on it. Or maybe I'm just the one freak of nature out there who gets paperwork and finishes it that day (unless she has to wait for one piece of information).

Re: RSVP vent
What I meant during that tangent is that you should treat the RSVP card like any paperwork--there's a deadline, but that doesn't mean that you have to wait until that day to hand it in.

Re: RSVP vent
I totally agree with what you said. If you know you're coming and if you don't just send it in. I mean people that have known about mine for a year still haven't RSVped yet. I understand being annoyed. Your not the only one.

Re: RSVP vent
We just got an invite today from FH's coworker. I checked yes, our meals, and dropped it right in the mailbox within 10 minutes. . FH said we will probably be the first back, and I said Yup! And she will know exactly how I feel her pain haha!
