OK Peeps, today is the RSVP deadline.... we sent out 60 invites with the Dec 1 deadline... we have gotten 20 back...
Do people think that 'please RSVP by December 1' means Mail the RSVP on Dec 1?

Ugh, just thinking about that stresses me out! I would definitely wait one or two days for the people that drop it in the mailbox the day its due, then start calling.

This is a HUGE pet peeve that I have! I HATE when people take their time to RSVP! FSIL didn't hear from like 70 people until 3 weeks before the wedding when they started calling people!!!! It was INSANE! I usually mail back my RSVP card the day after I get the invitation! SOME PEOPLE!!!!! I would say wait a week and then start making phone calls and ask them to still mail back the card even if they answer you on the phone, this way you can use it to do the seating and it's clarification JUST IN CASE you hear them wrong.

wait a week then start making phone calls.. or do a phone chain... some people tend to think that the RSVP date is the last day they can put it in the mail... plus this week was a holiday, so they might have put it in the mail on wednesday but there was no service on thursday.. so its late.
just give it a few days before getting upset. it su cks... but you don't want to call someone then get it in the mail 5 minutes later.

I agree with the other ladies...wait a few days or until the wknd and then call. I know a few invitations that have gotten lost in the mail or showed up weeks later.

Unfortunately, too many people believe the RSVP date is the day to actually put it in the mail
I say give it till this weekend for the stragglers and then start making calls/FB messages/texts.
