Honestly, I do think you're a little off base. This is your best friend and bridesmaid--I know you may be under your minimum, but if there is one person you would bend the rules for, isn't it her?
One of DH's friends (like literally the ONLY one who doesn't have a steady girlfriend) asked if he could take a little longer b/c he was starting to date and girl and wanted to bring her but didn't want to scare her by asking too early--we gave him until 2 weeks before the wedding (which was when we legit needed to know)....honestly it was only one person and it wasn't a big deal. Now the other ppl who straight up didn't get back to us I was pissed about and had no problem harassing.
JMHO, but I would have cut her some slack as she's obviously very important to you, and instead been a harda*s on everyone else who hadn't responded. I totally understand why you responded that way on that day--it just seems like one more thing and one more person, and someone who is so close to you can't even tell you if she's bringing someone, but I think maybe the overwhelmingness of that got the better of you. I would try to call her and eat some humble pie
HTH, sorry if it's not what you were looking to hear In the end it will all work out whether she brings someone or not, your friendship is more important (just for good measure )

Re: RSVP vent (sorry long)
I don't think you are off base. People don't realize how stressful this whole process is. But she seems to be acting kinda childish not answering you whenever you are trying to reach out to her. I can so see myself in your position in a few weeks. Yesterday one of my friends who is single told me that she will probably be coming alone, but she is going to try to 'snag a date' at the last minute. I wanted to like rip her head off right then and there, but I figured I'd wait at least until the RSVP date to see what her plan is then.

yea I have no problem apologizing, but I just think its a little immature for her not to speak to me for over a week- I did give her an extra month- even if she didnt think that was enough, it wasnt like I said no, its due today & thats it.
but thanks for your opinion- helps put things in perspective and your right our friendship is more important thanks!
OH you're totally right about her behavior, she's acting like a child--sorry I meant to say that earlier but must have missed it haha....she is being ridiculous with not answering, but if I were you I would try to just be the bigger person to diffuse the situation and in the end make the situation less stressful for yourself! You don't need the stress of a strained relationship with her right now

i also think u should cut her some slack. yes it is childish of her not to return your phone calls, but she is upset & so are you, so u guys just need some away time from each other.
Being that your wedding is 2 months away, I would give her until a month b4 the wedding. You definitely know she is coming, so waiting for 1 xtra rsvp is not a big deal. This really isnt worth possibly losing a friend over.
P.S. I know bm's can be a PITA because I am having issues with one of mine, but try to work it out if u can.

Sorry I dont know I explained this well in the first post- but I told her when I spoke to her to return it September 1st- which was a month after the other RSVPS are due.
no, i actually read that, but she is probably thinking as I am that your rsvp date is extremely early, which you probably have reasoning to do this, but nonetheless it is early.

Yes shes being a brat...and I had someone like this too and I was piissed. But whatever I got over it. I didnt care if she brought someone or not, but I just know her dates are flaky...and she was just bringing someone just to bring someone you know...and that is what annoyed me. I was also mad bc I couldnt do table charts! Arghh I feel your pain, but give her time. Ask her questions, like does she have someone in mind?
