We're still missing a good amount of replies - worst offenders are Fh's dad's friends!!! You'd think people who just hosted their daughter's wedding in the fall would understand about sending back RSVPs!!! BTW - NOT making the minimum and now we have started asking other people - which I hate to do at this point!!! Summer brides - all I can suggest is be prepared to invite extra people!! You would be shocked at the amount of no's we got - I think 90 something!! Yes, we sent out save the dates - but we have a lot of oot relatives, older relatives, people have other weddings, vacations, christenings - it sucks!!!

Re: RSVP was Yesterday!! (vent)
Our RSVP date was Fri and we are still missing a significant amount. Right now we are 45 below our minimum.
People keep telling our parents that they are coming...My thing is if I don't have your RSVP card then you are NOT on the accepted list.
I will never understand why it is so hard to to check yes or no, lick the envelope and drop it in the mail.

Re: RSVP was Yesterday!! (vent)
i know, i am also wondering if we are going to make our minimum... we set it very low in anticipation of what you describe, but the more we review the list the more we think we overestimated
how many did you send and what is your minimum? how many are OOT (our list is about 1/2 OOT)?

Re: RSVP was Yesterday!! (vent)
I hear ya girls. Our RSVP was the 1st, and we have about 10 that haven't responded. FH called the people on his side. Then there are people that are like, well i don't know who i'm bringing blah blah blah, i'll get back to you. Um no you won't, you had 2 months to decide who you wanted to bring. I have to make me table arrangements and stuff.

Re: RSVP was Yesterday!! (vent)
Exaactly - you had two months to decide if you were bringing a date. Meanwhile - I know there are always huge debates on here about inviting single guests with a date - wel - we invited everyone with a date and half the people who don't have a sig. other aren't even bringing one!!! and - now we want them to because we're short!!! I can't win...
Our min was 150 - we ended up inviting a total of 236 - which terrified me because I planned on having about 175 and now we are not going to make our min!!! Can you believe it?? We have already started asking other people...

Re: RSVP was Yesterday!! (vent)
My sis got married last Feb and the same thing happened to her because it fell during winter break, and a lot of people went away on vacation that week. She invited extra people from work, and they all came!
She wound up being a few people short, but you would never have know because the room still looked full, and everyone was on the dance floor having a great time.
I know it's stressful, but in the end it worked out for her, and the people who did come were VERY generous!!
Good Luck!!!!

My minimum is 200.
FILs told me to expect about 60 people from Chicago, well only 25 people are really coming. BC I didn't want to go over 225, I kept telling my mom that she can't invite people. Her family is sooooooo big, she had over 500 people at her wedding. I never expected that certain family members would not come, let alone not send RSVP back.
I'll decide next week if I will start calling people and give a chance for late cards to come.
ETA: We sent over invited over 425 people! 150 of which we knew weren't coming, but FILs still wanted to send an invitation to their colleagues and church people to be nice.

Re: RSVP was Yesterday!! (vent)
I'm sorry to hear that. I've heard there are always people that take too long to respond and then you have to go after them. You would think people would put the date on the calendar when you send out the Save the Date cards.
