Ok So I have this friend who I just recently started talking to again 6 months ago. So I thought it would be nice to invite her to our wedding. The invitation was addressed to her and her husband. So I get a text yesterday from her saying that her husband was going to stay home and watch the baby and she was looking for people to come with her to the wedding. She started off by saying well I asked friend A to come but they are going to be away the weekend of your wedding then I might ask my sister-in-law to come or friend B. Now I am thinking to myself you are invited with your husband not all of these other people that I dont know. I am a little annoyed. How would you guys handle this?

Re: RSVP: What would you do? Sorry Long...
Maybe she's uncomfortable to sit there by herself so she needs company, especially if you guys haven't spoken for a while. Up to you really but husband/or one friend is still the same head count so I wouldn't mind, unless the person she brings is someone you don't like. I wouldn't mind someone I didn't know as a partner, but someone I knew I didn't like, and purposely didn't invite then that's no good.

I agree with this! Especially since I responded once to a wedding with a date and we broke up right before so I brought a girl-friend of mine bc 1) I already rsvp'd for 2 and 2) I felt stupid going to a wedding alone.

The baby is 2 years old.
This is the way I see it The invitation was made out for her and her husband not her and a guest. Keep in mind this is her husband (just got married) not a boyfriend. I can understand that sometimes things happen last min and to fill the seat you might invite a friend.
She has 2 months to find a babysitter?

Maybe she feels weird coming alone. Does she know anyone else at the wedding? Maybe mention getting a babysitter so her husband can come? I do think its a little weird that she would invite other people without asking you first.

I agree with the other girls. I don't really care who a person brings to a wedding since I did give them an option to bring someone husband or not. Maybe she isn't comfortable having a baby sitter or she wants to save money and not pay for one.

I agree with this as well. Especially if she will not know many peopele at the wedding, its awkward to sit at a table with no one you know. If I was willing to pay for her husband, then I'd just think of it as being an even swap.

Maybe her husband doesn't want to come to the wedding. Some men don't care to go to these things! lol Also, like an above bride said, maybe they don't feel comfortable leaving the baby with someone else.
Personally, I wouldn't care if it was her husband (or a friend) but it would have been nice if she would have at least asked you if it was ok 1st.

It would bother me a little too, but I can see her husband not wanting to come and using him staying at home with the baby as an excuse. I would understand her not wanting to go alone.
