My fiance and I are trying to get our invitations together and are having a difficult time deciding on the wording for the response card. Because I would like to limit the number of children and he would like most of the children on his side of the family to come, that poses a biggg problem on how we word the response card.
Here is a format we like:
The favour of reply is requested on or before DATE m_____________________ ___ will attend ___ will not attend
But how do you keep track of the number of people coming (ex- guests of guests who really aren't invited, or the number of children coming)? So confused... We already have a huge list...
I guess it would be easier if we didn't have different views on children being invited....

Re: rsvp wording
Ok, I thought of that too, and am doing this:
Kindly respond on or before Date
___________________
__ accepts with pleasure ____ number of guests __ declines with regret
I figured this way it would be easy to tell if someone thinks they are bringing kids, etc!

Re: rsvp wording
The favour of reply is requested on or before DATE m_____________________ ___ Accept with pleasure ___ of ___ will attend ___ Must decline with regret
This way you fill in the second ___ line in the will attend, ex: ___ of _2_ will attend, so that they know only 2 are invited and not 6 or whatever.
Hope that helps!

Re: rsvp wording
That was really helpful!!! Are you filling in the number of guests for the RSVPs yourself? Or are you allowing your guests to write that in?

In my example above, I would fill in the second blank line and the guest would fill out the firts blank indicating how many will actually attend.

Re: rsvp wording
I know, but I want to limit how many guests come to the wedding. I have single friends and other friends for that matter, that if I don't indicate that the invitation is for them, they'll invite someone or an entire party with them. I've heard that's considered rude, but I really need to keep my list at a minimum. I'm writing my RSVP, exactly how you have yours, but I wasn't sure whether or not it was proper to write the number in for specific guests.

Re: rsvp wording
I think the trick is in the address.
'Ms. Sharon Stone and Guest', she''ll think she's allowed to bring a date.
'Ms. Sharon Stone' means that she's invited alone.
'Mr. And Mrs. Sand Stone and family' indicates that you're inviting their kids.

Re: rsvp wording
Had the same problem. I finally decided to add another line to it after the part about accepting or declining which reads :' _ seats will be reserved in your honor'.....the only downfall is YOU have to write in how many seats. BUT This way it lets the guests know they have a limit
