Ok, so looks like we're ordering our invitations sometime in the near future and I need help with wording. I'm worried about the RSVP thing, this is what I was going to use...
M____________________________
_____ will attend with pleasure _____ declines with regret
Kindly respond on or before the 1st of June
Which I like, but I have a huge fear that the people invited without a guest can put 2 people there or people with kids who aren't invited with kids would put there kids there - and I can't afford any extra people!
I found this wording online, but I feel like it looks rude, opinions please?
Kindly respond on or before June 1st
____ seats have been reserved in your honor (and I'd fill in the blank, but with pen, it wouldn't be printed obviously because they would be different.)
M__________________
____ accepts with pleasure ____ declines with regret ____ of ___ will attend
Or something along those lines, what do you think? Feel free to mix and match if you can give me some advice, please
Thank You!!

Re: RSVP Wording
We did not have children at our 200 person wedding and made a point of very tactfully spreading the word verbally. This worked out very well for us and everyone understood - or at least said they did haha! We sent out STDs and let everyone know well in advance that we would not be having kids at our evening wedding so everyone was able to find child care with plenty of time.
We used a VERY traditional BLANK RSVP. It simply said 'The pleasure of a response is requested by...' and everyone was gracious enough to respond with the correct # of people.
We invited EVERY adult over the age of 18 with a guest.

Re: RSVP Wording
I was very upfront on my RSVPS's about how many were invited. They went something along the lines of:
Mr. & Mrs. John Smith
Two seats have been reserved in your honor
____Yes, ___ of us will attend ____Regretfully declines
Seriously, this wording was foolproof. There were no additional add-ons and it was easy to track how many people were coming from each household.
HTH!

Re: RSVP Wording
we plan on doing something along the lines of:
M________________________
___ seats have been reserved in your honor
___ Accept with pleasure ___ Decline with regret
I don't want to have to worry about 'add ons' so we'll be writing how many ppl are invited.
