RSVP/Kids Help!!!!!

Many people are rsvping with their children. I took many steps to try to avoid this, I only included the names of those invited on the inner envelopes. I am having an evening wedding/reception but some morons are still bringing their kids/teenagers. How am I suposed to handle this? Help!!!!!

Call them and let them know that it's an adult only reception. Don't however let them talk you into letting the kids come-stand your ground

I would call them up and let them know that it is an adult only reception.

i had to call my cousin and tell him that if i let him bring his kids i would have to let everyone do it. He understood, so hopefully your family will to. I still can't believe that people who have gone through the whole wedding planning process do this type of thing! i mean come on!!

You can either call them or write a note to them and state that you are only having an adult reception. Trust me I am having the same problem.

yeah we had morons do that too.. unfortunately, so some people we couldn't do anything.. the rest, we explained that we are at our max capacity (which we are) and if anyone says no, we'll inform them.. whatever..

Definitely call them to advise them.

As much as you may not want to call them I'm going to have to say you have to. They may not like it, but you tried to be tactful about it.

Thats what I didnt want either...
I put Adult Reception on our invitation...
I would call them and tell them its an Adult Reception only and you are truly sorry.

My reception is adults only...if people RSVP with a child they will get a phone call from me or my parents and our banquet manager has been informed that no kids are permitted in the reception and high-chairs are unavailable.

ETS: Our invites will have Adult Reception on them.

I am stuck with this too. a friend (not family) replied with their kid. When I had someone mention to her that it we were doing children in the wedding, her response was that kids don't pay. when informed that kids do pay & quite alot at my place. She actually called my reception hall to see I wasn't there, but i was insulted. AT least now people see that yes. kids don't eat for FREE. & they add quite a lot to the bill of which we are paying for.

I thought I would have some issues with family.. not friends.

ugh

This is always a difficult conversation to have with guests. You'll have to call your guests to inform them that children are not invited. Be strong, you can do this !!

I just don't understand people. I would never do that. When i go places, I always check with the hostess to see about anything. My parents never took me to a wedding, I would go to the ceremony then I was with a sitter. I just don't get it

My dad made a good point when i told him i was worried about this...he said if they have the audacity to respond with extra people then you should feel totally comfortable calling and putting them on the spot to say that they aren't invited. They made it awkward so now they have to deal with it. If it happens to me i am calling people and politely saying that just the two of them were invited...

Re: RSVP/Kids Help!!!!!

People are inconsiderate morons, sometimes....

my cuz brought her 3 kids to another cuzs wedding and left them in the hall to go take a tour of the grounds with some guy she met at the wedding

FBIL didnt go to fathers 60th cuz 'if my kids r not welcome then I am not welcome'
(thankfully his 2 girls will be invited 1 is a Jr. BM and other is our FG)

unfortunately you have to call them and stand your ground on the issue, 'sorry but no children....'

we are doing 21 and up to avoid any immature problems and not looking forward to trouble makers, which i am sure there will be few
