RSVP's- what's the deal?

RSVP's- what's the deal?

How hard it is to write your name and shove the letter in a mailbox?!? I assume everyone learned how to write their name in kindergarten, so what is the hold-up? My due date was Friday, and I am still waiting on 30 responses. It's so frustrating!!

I am sure you will get them soon...but I am sure its frustrating... I would be a little upset too... if you dont get them in a week I would call the people...

I agree with you 100%. My RSVP date was today and I am still waiting for 28 responses. You can't make it any easier for people to mail the response card with it already addressed and stamped. What is the proper time to wait to start calling people who did not respond? Its so frustrating.

I don't understand it either. FILs had us send over 100 invites to people who they know weren't coming. Why is it so hard for these people to send back the card to say they are not coming? My immediate family and some of my BP still didn't send their's back, they say I know they're gonna be there.

Well I want my damn stamp back...it's the principle! These people are probably gonna use my stamp to mail bills.

OMG i totally agree i cant undersand what is the hold up, and personnally i think its nuts that we have to take time to cal all the people who dont respond why do we have to take extra time out of our busy schedules for them when they cant just write down their names and seal the evelope and drop it into a mailbox

I am sorry! I just did that to someone. But, she waited till last minute to send them so I had 3 weeks to respond and I decided to wait till the last minute. Oh geez, I hope I did not set off a huge karma thing

Yeah I know. I don't want to go over or under my min, so I created 2 rsvp dates. The second one is late July, but I can't send those out until I hear back from the first set.
Also, I'm waiting for 30 envelopes to come back. That's almost 60 people!

Would it be inappropriate of me to consider those who have not responded by next week as No's?

even though they haven't responded yet, and the RSVP has passed, you have to wait for them still - try to get in touch with them and let them know (nicely) that you need to know if they are coming or not.

Call them during dinner.

I'm in the same boat - my wedding is in 4 weeks and the cards are due this week. Still have a lot out there.
People say things like - 'I'm sending it back as a no but I might be able to come!'
For a few people in really strange circumstances - I agreed. Most people should be able to find out though.

Coudl it be because your wedding is still 9 weeks away? Do you need to have responses this early? I know my caterers only need 48 hours notice and the florist needs 10 days for total number of tables.
