RSVPS........coming back NO!!

I can't believe how many No's we are getting. Do you think the economy is effecting this or do you think it's because my wedding is so close to Thanksgiving. I can't believe this.

We invited 229 & so far only have 113 coming and 50 no's soo far.....with the rsvp's we are missing we will be very close to our minimum of 150. And here I was afraid we would be over. HA!!

we invited about 215 people and i realistically think we will come in at around 130 even though our minimum is 175, FH thinks we might be closer to 150 but i'm not sure, i would be SHOCKED if get close to 175.....we already paid the hall in full and to be honest we cut our list - i would so much rather be under and have just the people we are close with attending - we could have invited about 250 or more but then we ran the risk of going over and i didnt want to deal with that....i figure if we are under our florist bill drops, we'll need less CP's and we may be able to cut a deal with the RH to get something thrown in....

dont worry, half your guest list is attending already, and like you said you'll probably come in close to minimum....150 is still a lot of people

I hear ya - we invited about 270. . .

now - about 75 of our people were OOT and I invited my entire group at work bc I couldn't invite only some - and invited everyone with a date. SO I knew that EVERYONE wasn't coming.

I sincerely thought we would end up around 210, 215, after looking at the list and thinking 'How could he / she NOT come'

Well - guess what? They aren't coming. We are still waiting for about 30 cards or 60 people, and I think over half of them will be no. We will most likely end up around 170. .. I was really hurt and I still am, but it kind of put some relationships in perspective.

A good handful of the nos were people invited with a date coming single, a lot of them were the OOTers, but a good piece of them were unexpected no's.

You def are not alone.

I got married the day after thanksgiving - i cut my list beacause i thought i was inviting too many people - well i ended up getting 75 nos!!!!! I could have kept my original list after all!
Im guessing it's because of the holiday

SOme of my OOT's couldn't come cause of money too. It's so hard right now. But don't worry, your wedding is going to be beautiful. And you probably are going to meet your minimum. You still have a good amount who haven't responded yet.

Yes, I do but as I count out of that who I think will come..or come alone or with guest. The total is like another 35 people. Which is why I say we will be around 150. When FH gets home we will go over it again. My RSVP's are due the 12th.

Date twin.. I have the same dilemma. I also an noticing ALOT of the nos are b/c there are other weddings! I know about 8 so far, not inc. all of our LIW date twins.

If we hit 200 WITH vendors I may be shocked!!

we invited close to 140 people.

103 rsvp'd yes and i was so nervous that the wedding would be so small. plus it stunk getting all the 'no's' i felt like no one wanted to come

even less people actually showed up the day of...about 96

you know what? it was even better with that amount!! i was so worried about it being too small but it was great!! the room looked so full and i knew everyone there was there for us and was really enjoying themselves.

plus with fewer people we saved on table and glass rentals and CPs!!

I do think that the economy may have something to do with it especially being that most of the no responses are from OOT. Some people leave things for the last minute and they may not be able to afford the flight, hotel and gift plus an outfit or doing hair or nails to come.
Sorry you are going through this but it is better to know before your RSVP date then to have people either not showing up or dealing with it the week of your wedding

FH jokes with me that between the economy and the holiday's we're not going to meet our min though our guest list is at 275 and our min is 175.

Hopefully it's not because of the economy that you are getting more no's...but even if you come in less it might work out for the best in the end.

I do believe that you may get alot of no's because of the date but I hope that I am wrong.

We seem to have the opposite problem. We have received so far at least 70 yes's and only 4 no's. Its a nice thing to have all these yes's but I am hoping more say no. We invited about 220 people.... I was really hoping 160 will show. We invited lots of out of state people too.

we invited 203 and so far we have 102 yes and 38 no.
we are missing like 60 ppl ... but a lot of those ppl i know wont be able to come... and quite a few ppl who said they were Def. coming aren't now. Our minimum is 125.. so i'm just hoping we can cover that.. we should be close.. maybe with our 5 vendors we can make it...

I know how you feel... but try not to let it get to you. We invited a little over 300, and ended up with 194. I just went through our guest list and we invited 144 OOTers. Many of them couldn't come. (we had 50-60 of them attend)

I was a little surprised, because some were DH's family or friends whose weddings we would have travelled for, but a lot of it came down to money. flights + hotel even without a gift gets expensive. there were also some courtesy invites to people we were pretty sure wouldn't come but wanted to invite anyway.

We were still over our min (160) but got over 100 No RSVPs, and sometimes I felt a little embarrassed. However, we had a lot of OOTers who did make the trip, and all of my local friends and family came, and we really appreciated everyone who was there.

Those most important to you will be there

WE got WAY less too... OOT, friends and family who said they would come then aren't now. Economy's not the issue, really, they've known about this for 9 months... plenty of time to buy a cheaper ticket and save some money. I'm still really mad about all that.... ugh no need to start ranting. Whatever, it's all in your priorities and what's important and means anything to you.

(And, obs. I'm not talking about the ones who can't afford it or aren't well enough to travel, etc. Just the ones who said they'd come and aren't - since it's 97% of them who now aren't coming, I would have done so much different if I'd known that)
