Re: rude comments

when somebody found out that we were getting married the end of july she was like omg we're going to be dripping in sweat, it's going to be so hot, why did you do it then?

Excuse me but this is my wedding, I'm having it when I want and if you have a problem, you dont have to come! Meanwhile obviously we will have air conditioning and this person lives in Florida, I would think you are used to the heat...

Re: rude comments

that's awful, people can be so rude.

This is both FH and I second try at this, the first time we didn't have a nice wedding, it was more city hall kinda thing. So we both want to do it right this time around. So, we from people, why are you wasting so much money? Why don't you just have a destination wedding? blah, blah....

um the last time I check we are paying for this ourselves, did we ask for your opinions? Sheesh!

Anyways, my point is people can be so, so rude.

Re: rude comments

fh and i haven't really had any rude comments. the rudest comment we got was why did u get engaged in 08 and r waiting till 2010 to get married. i just think people who have these comments need to shut there mouths and mind there business.

I can't keep track anymore I choose not to. I think the most annoying thing though is that my mother keeps complaining to me that I am 'inconveniencing everyone with this wedding' because we planned it in six months when I didn't ask her for one cent or to do one thing other than look for a MOB dress at her convenience which I even offered to pay for if she found one she loved. But my mother likes to be consulted all the time and if she isn't, oh boy.

Re: rude comments

not necessarily a comment, but it took my FH's mom more then an hour to congratulate me and ask to see my ring the first time i saw her after we were engaged.... they're from kansas and things are different there :(

I've gotten alot of comments from FH's family about having the wedding in Jan about if the cold and if its snows, but they all forget that FH has work/race schedules that i had to plan around

Re: rude comments

1. Why December? It's too cold.

2. December is a cheap month to get married.

3. Why are you waiting so long?

4. That's going to ruin my holiday season.

5. My former roommate never asked to see the ring even though we lived together for 2 more months after I got engaged...

You know I told my mom all about my ring and she still to this day has never asked to see it. It always bothered me a little but I know I can be oversensitive sometimes so I figured it was just a hormonal bride thing. Now that I'm reading that other people thought it was rude for people not to ask to see their rings I feel a little more justified being hurt that she didn't care to see it even to this day although I did hear her say something to FMIL at my engagement party about my ring being 'gorgeous'

I hate when people make rude comments like that. So unnecessary. Esp from people who aren't even invited!!

My aunt sent me some long e-mail after I decided to change from July to September telling me that it's a bad luck time to get married cuz it's the month of the devil or some crazyness like that.

Re: rude comments

people are so annoying. they're just jealous if they have bad things to say. my soon to be FIL can be such an *** because hes divorced. hes all 'y dont u just go elope' 'y r u having a big wedding' yadda yadda yadda. Im having my dream wedding and we all deserve to have our dream wedding if we can afford to. It's no ones business what we do. FIL came to our engagement party in jeans even though we made a point to tell everyone that it was a formal dinner at a nice restaurant. There's always going to be people putting us down. They're just jealous!

I'm a teacher, and FH proposed in front of all my work-friends at the end of year BBQ. It totally took me by surprise and I am so not a center of attention type person...Well, after making all my phone calls and getting all the love from everyone at the BBQ, my assistant principal (who at the time I considered a pretty close friend) pulled me aside, sat me down, and said...Seriously, are you happy? Are you sure this is what you want?

OMG I get them all the time because I am having a winter wedding!! I was talking to my co-worker one day about my concerns about the weather and she said 'you better hope it doesn't snow or nobody will show up' and 'thats what you get for having a wedding January' UGH!!!

I have always wanted a winter wedding so I think she should just shut her mouth!!

Re: rude comments

***, that's so rude and uncalled for.

I haven't really had anyone say anything rude like that to me. I've only had to deal with jealous chicks who were upset their bf's didn't propose to them.
