RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!!

Ok so I call the bridal salon for my soon to be sister in law’s wedding so that I can get the size of my BM dress and place the order. Here is how the conversation went with the woman:

Me: Hi, I need to get the size of my BM dress so that I can finish the form and fax it out to you to order
Her: Oh ok, let me get your measurements. What is your bust?
Me: I tell her
Her: ok, you waist
Me: I tell her
Her: Hips?
Me: I tell her
Her: OH!! (with a big gulp of air as if I told her I shot someone or something)
Me: Is there something wrong? I don’t think that is an outrageous number, I hope.
Her: Oh no, its just that you are a half a size too big for size * and the size above it would be way too big.
Me: well, I can get alterations done. Which size do you suggest?
Her: Well, I would get the size * and have them let it out a half an inch. But if I were you I wouldn’t gain anymore weight.
Me: Oh (totally shocked that she said this to me). I am getting married 3 months after them and I am hoping to lose a few pounds.
Her: well, if you could do that, that would be GREAT!

GEEZ!! Way to make a girl feel like crap!!! Needless to say I called my soon to be sister in law and she freaked out!! She is calling this afternoon to complain!

Rude! People are so nervy.

Some of those bridal people do not think before they speak. It's bad enough we have to go and get measured and find out that our hips are too big compared to our this or that. But for someone to point it out - ack!

I went to get fitted for my friends BM dress the other day and I sort of had the opposite problem. The woman wanted me to order a size smaller because my bust & waist fit into a different size then my hips...but I am afraid to go smaller - what if I didn't lose the weight, then I would have to trust they can let the smaller dress out to fit my hips. I keep thinking I should have just ordered the smaller size...but my gut says just stick with the one I ordered.

OMG..I am stunned.. I am sitting at work with a dumbfounded look on my face.. everyone must think im stupid.. Thats aweful, dont pay attention to that snob.

Some people just don't get it.. My sister went had that happen to her as well, and she is plus size and sensitive about it, but she had a better time of it, I'm sorry you had to go through that!

Oh no!!!! That's horrible!!!! Your FSIL seems to be good-natured enough to be taking care of it for you tho, that's good.
