RUNNERS!!!

RUNNERS!!!

I didn't realize until barb's thread on running sneakers how many girls on here are runner's!! I love it!!

Is anyone doing any upcoming races? I'm signed up for the Diva Half on Oct 3rd!

Also, I was wondering if anyone has a hydration pack. I'm looking into buying one, but all the ones I like online are one-size-fits-all or waist size 26-42 and I'm afraid it will be too big.

Re: RUNNERS!!!

i am! i wanted to do the Diva half. so jealous. but clearly it would be a bad idea to do that the morning after my wedding :)

i actually thought, 'well, i will already be on LI'

I am doing the 4 mile fitness run in central park on 9/11.

i have two hydration belts - one with the 4 mini bottles, and 1 with the one big bottle along my back.

Re: RUNNERS!!!

I thought about training for the Diva too, but FH is too nervous I'm going to get injured again. I got plantar fascitis pretty bad after the NYC Half in March. I'm training for a 10k up in Westchester for 10/10.

I don't use a hydration belt. I have water bottle from Nathan that has handle so it kinda just rests in your hand while you run. I hate drinking when I run, but when I do it's pretty comfortable. I bought it at runningwarehouse.com.

Re: RUNNERS!!!

I was going to run the Diva's but I have a wedding to attend the night before. Actually, i contemplated running Grete's gallop which is the moring of the wedding, but I haven't been training and I think I'll be exhausted that night.

I'm only signed up for one race at the moment, and its the 1 mile sprint down 5th avenue Sept 26th.

I have conflicts for all the other NYRR races this fall. Are there any on LI?

I do not use a hydration belt...

I'm doing the Ocean to Sound Relay on September 19th - 50 miles, 8 person teams running from Jones Beach to Oyster Bay! And it's a week before I'm getting married - ahhhhh!!!

The whole race is 50 miles and there are 8 people on a relay team - each person runs somewhere around 6 miles each, but it's an all day event that goes from the south shore to the north shore!

There are no good races on LI!! I keep looking. I might do a 10k in A.C, but its 2 weeks after the half, so I'm a little worried about recovery time.
