Another freakin' invite came back. This puts the total at 8... plus one we had to resend b/c one of the GMs moved and failed to tell us his new address.

Oy. Well, my leg has been bothering me a bit, so i may need it for a few more days.

Yeesh. I'm about to send an email to all of my buds, making sure I have their correct address. FMIL has the invites in Dallas and is about to take them to the calligrapher.

At least you've already figured out a decent solution. The second batch of stds were a lot easier to send once I knew to let the ink dry on the labels.

I can't believe more came back. If FW and I have to watch them weigh every single one, so be it.

It's okay - you can keep the cane. I met my father's friend this morning and he's manually walking all the invites through the system so none will be returned. He was SO NICE. He even told me to just call him if I ever have anything special that needs to be mailed (photos or whatever) so he can just manually do it without machines or idiots getting in the way.

Hopefully that one yesterday was the last one to come back. We're already getting responses, so that's a good sign!

ETA - We DID ask all of our friends for updated addresses... The GM sent us the one he was living at, moved sometime after we had the calligraphy done but before we mailed them... and didn't tell us until we asked him if he got the invite b/c of the problem we were having. He said, 'No, I didn't get it - but I moved and I don't think you have that address... so that's probably why!'
