Hello- I have just gotten engaged and started looking for a RH. I am looking at Douglaston Manor, Russo's on the Bay, Coral House or possibly Roma View because their pricing is alot lower. Anyone have any reviews or advice about these places?

Re: Russo's, COral House, Roma, Douglaston?
I've been to Russo's and its amazing, but it's too over the top for me, not to mention way beyond my budget... lol... I am having my reception at the Coral House. My sister had her's there 16 years ago, and 2 friends of our have also had their reception at the coral house, and 1 of my FI cousins. So i've been there plenty of times... I chose it for those reasons, and because of the capacity. I am inviting over 300 people... So i need the space...

Service and food at the other venues does not even compare to Russo's on the Bay. You can negotiate with Russo's if you let them know your budget and scale back on crazy things like extreme cocktail and venetian hours and also table and chair covers. All that is not necessary if you really care about a budget but still want great food and service. I had my wedding at Russo's and did not have this elaborate cocktail hour or venetian hour and they were will to work with me because I told them I did not want anything elaborate or crazy and also told them my exact budget. You have to stick to your word and tell them you want somehting elegant and simple and ask what they can do for you.
