Russo's on the Bay

So we went and looked at Russo's on the Bay yesterday and all I can say is wow. We actually have to go back though to see what the room looks like set up. We are having a smaill wedding between 70-100 we think so the only room we can have it in is the Florentine room. We were thinking Jan or June 2010 but the only date they have is a Fri in Jan. They only want 85 a plate which I couldn't believe. Thing is with a friday wedding , and we live in Staten Island and of course have to take pictures, I'm concerned with us making it there in time for an 8 pm wedding. We gave her other dates in May, and June and supposdly with this room the 2 other main rooms need to be booked first and this room isn't availabe as of now and all the Saturdays are booked already. She mentioned Vetro but I don't want to book someplace where I can't see the room. Does the Florentine Room look nice set up? Should we call her back and see if there's anything she can do with the date since my FH wants a June rather then a Jan?

I love love Russo's the food and service is the best! My sister got married in Jan 04 and everything was perfect! Her friend got married in that room as well, the Florentine. It is really nice and the view of the water is really nice.

I thought that they stopped doing weddings in the smaller room b.c they were going to open Vetro. Do you know when Vetro is going to be opened?

Where I am getting married it is going to be completely new and I just viewed pictures of models. What sold me was the fact that no one in my family or friends had ever been there and something new is always nicer in my opinion.

Yes you can def get a much much better price. Jan is slow season and a Friday night is also a slower day, either see if they can throw things in ie(seafood in CH) or Viennese hour, or lower your price. Btw this week you will get a box of candy(mine was peanut brittle) from them and it was to die for, just to view the hall!!

Also did they quote higher or lower for Vetro?

She said the all the prices at Vetro are at least 20 dollars higher bc it is a new place. I just spoke with someone who made it seem like 10 months isn't enough to plan this which is why I started doubting the Jan month and also I'm concerned with not being able to take pictures outside for that month.

Well January is the least expensive month at most Rh's, so it's most likely less money than January, so if you are looking to save money than january would be good.

As far as getting there by 8pm, if you have ceremony at lets say 2pm then should be fine.
