I'm new to LIW, so I apologize in advance for not using the correct lingo and/or abbreviations. :o)
After dating for 6 1/2 years, my fiance finally popped the question this weekend! I thought I'd know when he was going to do it, but I was completely oblivious! It was a wonderful surprise.
Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have any recommendations for a RH that has a vintage/rustic feel? I'm thinking of doing a gray and yellow wedding in June-July-August 2012, but I may change the theme if I can't find anything. My main must have's are 1 Wedding at a Time, and GREAT food!!
Any advice? Thanks in advance!!

Re: Rustic RH's
Old Field Club definitely has a rustic feeling. The reception room is beautiful.

Old field club is beautiful, rustic, and 1 wedding at a time, though a bit pricey. Stewart manor cc has a rustic feel as well. The somerly room at fox hollow is rustic, but not 1 party.

sorry to crash, but definitely check out the Riviera in Massapequa! We wanted rustic as well, and one of my guests described its look as a 'super elegant ski lodge'. There food is amazing too. Some non pro pics in my album if you want to see :)

Thanks! I've tried calling the Riviera twice. I left messages both times, and also emailed them. Still haven't heard back (I mean it's only been 3 days). I'll keep trying.

Congrats on the engagement! I don't know of many halls so I can't help you there, but good luck with the planning!

Re: Rustic RH's
Coral House is really rustic and old school americana feeling AND CHEAP
We choose it based on the food and our vintage themed wedding.
Best Mango Salmon EVER!

Good news, the Riviera called me back. I have an appointment with them this weekend. We'll see what happens? I've heard mixed reviews about the food. Do you think they'll give me a tasting when I meet with them?

Definitely these! The Somerley is on a different floor in Fox Hollow, so while they do have more than 1 wedding at a time, you have privacy when you book that space! HTH

We haven't done our tasting yet, but we have heard nothing but rave reviews about the food. They were on Four Weddings last year and the guests talked about how good the food was on the show!

Crashing again They won't give you a tasting without a particular tasting appointment since they do it when they have events going on so you taste whats at that event. BUT, that being said, the food at my wedding was AMAZING.
All of my guests are still raving about it. And these are all old italian guys who own their own restaurants, so you really have no worries.
